- Moving the bar to the front, and creating a lounge within the restaurant;
- Introducing a large, private party area on main floor that will be perfect for cocktails and conducting business;
- Round booths overlooking the water
- Brand new floors, ceilings, bathroom tiles, lighting, and chairs
- Closing: January 15th, 2018
- Reopening: February 26th, 2018 (tentative)
- Location: 812 Wharf Street

In the current EAT magazine there's an article on fishhook's new place at Mermaid Wharf. It also goes on to say the owner is opening up an Indian-Mexican fusion place in the new Jahl building across from city hall, that will have a take-out window/drive-thru bike lane. Looking forward to seeing this in action and trying two of my favourite foods combined.

We had heard something about that but did not have the pieces figured out. And we have of course seen the windows ready for it.

That helps to explain the "drive-thru" looking windows on the south-eastern corner of the Pandora building.

Watch for "dobosala cantina & ride thru" at 760 Pandora coming Spring 2018.

Bold Butchery & Grill is new at Pandora and Quadra St.
Is it still an "halal" butchery?
Edit: I see, in fact, that it is.

No surprise, but the Tulip Cafe on Blanshard near the Italian deli has closed and the windows are all papered up.

As mentioned by JanionGuy here, Nubo Japanese Tapas will be moving from their 700-block Pandora location to the Janion. Tout de Sweet will also be situating into one of the building's commercial spaces, as mentioned by Jackerbie here.

^Can anyone ELI5 what those whiskey seizures are all about? Is it because it's "homemade"?

All restaurant liquor has to be purchased through the LDB, so are they mad because they were caught or mad because the enforcement was selective?

Sad, very sad.
When we all pass by 8 pot shops on a 15 minute walk in any downtown neighbourhood and it ain't even legal yet.
The product in question is almost guaranteed to be purchased legally across the border (having paid the appropriate local taxes etc.) in an effort for societies and or local vendors to provide consumers something special?

I think it’s the selective nature of it. But I don’t know, I’m green when it comes to all of this stuff.
