I don't know if I have ever seen so much effort to build something so similar to what was on a site previous to a demolition. What a sad state of affairs.

Even half the distance from the Douglas St. sidewalk would still have left a ton of room.

Looks close. The new place is massive. Toyota must do a huge business in Victoria.

I scratch my head over the popularity of those vehicles.

A couple of years ago I bought a Toyota and drove it for a year. It was utilitarian and downright sucky in every way despite a high price for what it was. Yeah, it was reliable, but the rest of the driving experience left so much to be desired.

I ditched it for American steel and never looked back.

Know it all.

Toyota tends to have less dealerships but typically they are very large and have a high volume.. this is opposite to someone like Chrysler which tends to have more dealerships and smaller dealerships.

I was surprised by the size of the dealership that was built, although their old dealership was undersized for years.

I have never really understood the appeal of Toyotas either. They are just such tin can dogs to drive and just look and feel super cheap. But they are dependable, offer good fuel economy (when other brands like Ford, Mazda, Chrysler and GM didn't give two hoots about fuel economy) and offer a comparatively good price.

Toyota owners are known for being super loyal and are usually repeat customers.

I am still surprised at the scale of this new Jimmy P Toyota dealership in Victoria. It is really massive. It's the sort of place I would expect to see in Vancouver or Calgary, not Victoria.

Anyway, I'm glad business is good! Dealerships distribute a lot of money throughout the economy.

Yes and he owns the Volvo dealership as well.

All he needs to do now is open up his brand of gas stations on the present Toyota lot.

He does sell gas doesn't he?

And I'm not a huge fan of the new Lexus design either...

seems a bit strange but what do I know? I only work in the service side of dealership.

Its just that if people are cross shopping say a civic and a corolla, often dealers else where like to have the car chosen to be cross shopped on their used lots. There if you humming and hawing I can say well look this is the equivalent or a similar civic what do you like about it over the corolla. limiting the risk of them going across the street to honda city.

having the used side across the street seems a bit odd, since people coming for a corolla aren't very likely to walk out with a LS400.

I assume the existing space is going to become their used car lot since their current used lot on Douglas is really tiny.

As far as car dealerships go, this thing is actually pretty good looking.

And yet for some reason, something about the finished project underwhelms me, but I am not sure why. Perhaps as it fills with shiny new automobiles I will like it more.
