One thing that’s has never stopped panic buying, is politicians telling us to “stop panic buying, in order to stave off shortages”.

Didn’t stop Horgan today though.

It's very hard to get around. I'm using more gas just to do the basic errands.

A little over 9 years ago we elected a mayor that doesn’t approve of you “driving around”.

Next time ride your bike.

I’ve read all the *****ing about Vancouver street, but to see it first hand… ahh haha

Anyways, Government and Cook streets better be solar powered and paved in gold for all the wear and tear on my Caravan!

It really has to be experienced in person to understand the true level of insanity the CoV has reached.

I spent a couple days hanging out with friends and wandering downtown, I miss it that’s for sure! Especially the food options. No issues parking anywhere, everywhere we went it was pretty busy too.

Man found in car that went into ocean had been arrested hours earlier; police watchdog investigating

B.C.’s police watchdog is investigating after the death of a man whose car went into the ocean near Victoria airport hours after he was arrested and released by West Shore RCMP.

The Independent Investigations Office of B.C. says the man, who has not been identified, was arrested around 3 p.m. Saturday, according to information provided by the RCMP. He was released around 7 p.m. and about 20 minutes later he was reported to have breached his conditions.

West Shore RCMP communicated with the man about the breach, and he was not taken into custody.

Wonder what he was arrested for.

My guess would be something domestic. And the breach was contacting the other party, contrary to the release conditions.

That happens often.

19 years old. Tragic.

@SaanichPolice

We are very sad to report that the youth pedestrian involved in the collision on Cedar Hill Cross Rd has succumbed to their injuries. Our heartfelt condolences go out to the family, friends, and anyone that has been affected by this very tragic incident. #Saanich

Original story from the T-C:

A young person was in critical condition with life-threatening injuries after being struck by a vehicle in a Saanich crosswalk on Monday night.

The pedestrian was hit in a marked crosswalk at Cedar Hill Cross Road and Merriman Drive about 9:45 p.m. and was taken to Victoria General Hospital.

Chuck Spence, who lives next to the crosswalk, said he arrived home after picking up his wife about 10 minutes after the collision happened. The area was taped off, and he noticed a van and a green backpack with its contents strewn across the crosswalk and edge of the road.

Police said the driver stayed at the scene and co-operated with police investigators. The road was closed until 3 a.m.

And like nearly every other traffic incident, we'll never hear about what contributed to the crash.

It doesn't seem like too tough a crosswalk.

Perhaps not on a sunny, summer afternoon, but what were the conditions like at 9:45 PM on December 6th?

I recall it being a bit rainy?

I'm wanting to know details like - did the pedestrian hit the button for the flashing lights? Was their clothing visible?  Was the driver's vision impaired by oncoming headlights?

The teenager struck by a vehicle in a marked crosswalk on Monday night in Saanich has died.

Kaydence Bourque, a 16-year-old student at Reynolds Secondary, had just got off the bus and was less than 100 feet from his home when he was hit by a vehicle at 9:45 p.m. at the lighted crosswalk on Cedar Hill Cross Road and Merriman Drive, according to a Facebook post from his mother, Crystal Bourque.

Bourque said her son never regained consciousness and was pronounced dead Tuesday at 4:20 p.m.

“His body is being kept alive until Thursday at 5:30 a.m. when his organs will be used to save up to eight people,” Bourque said in the post.

“I have never felt this much pain in all my life. I have not slept in over 40 hours now and I won’t leave his side until the very end.

That explains the Reynolds soccer thing from another thread.
