I thought I'd create a thread where we can discuss properties that are likely to be redeveloped sometime soon.

I'll start with this group of buildings on Fort Street

How long until these are gone?

Well, I better go there soon, because I don't think any of those buildings is going to be around for much longer.

Does anyone know if developers have bought any of these properties?

You're probably aware of the big blank wall next door at the Adria(??). (Blank wall? Oxford? Yes I think he's aware of the big blank wall.) Well that's got to be an indication that somethings going to happen to those buildings you posted pics of. But that's probably why you posted them.
Something similar height or higher to the Adria will be there soon enough.

Oooh, I hate that wall. The wall on the opposite side was the one that collapsed in a windstorm.

See the new stairway attached to the Good Things house? That was built by the Adria contractor as a neighbourly gesture to replace the original rickety one. Oh, and perhaps because their nice view of a lawn was replaced by a giant cinderblock wall.

Victoria already has a lack of Indian restaurants, would be a shame to lose one, but those little buildings are looking pretty shabby.

Maybe have them move closer to the centre of downtown would be good..but then again that get's more expensive too.

Speaking of Da Tandoor, me and a bunch of buddies went there last month, and we asked them to make every dish as hot as possible... (we had a few beverages beforehand). Believe me, they took it on as a personal challenge..and they won...and they kept on winning long after the night was through.

Personally I prefer Spice Jammer, but this is for the Dining Section, so I'll stop now!

Actually there could be a lot of restaurants on the death watch list. Why have a restaurant occupying prime land with nothing above it? They can always relocate in the ground floor of an office or mixed use building, or condo building such as The Mosaic.

In particular I'm thinking of Floyd's Diner...Mings, I'm sure there are a couple more obvious ones.

We are going to have to figure out a way to preserve the seagull mosaic on the wall. Perhaps it can go on the side of the hotel that is to replace the terminal. 8)

I think an obvious one to add to the 'deathwatch list' is the building on Johnson which currently houses Peacock Billiards and the Juliet presentation center. I think we'll definitely see condos there sometime (soon?)

Well, it's no longer up on icx (unless it's the property they're asking 1.3million for) so..... Let's just say that I'd enjoy it while I could.

I'll nominate both buildings for the death watch...

Sorry I have no pictures, but as I walked past yesterday, I decided that the drycleaners at the SW corner of Johnson & Quadra and the adjacent (vacant) old Fabricland buildings days HAVE to be seriously numbered. Keep Floyd's Diner at the Yates corner though, as I like going there for Sunday morning brunch (along with about 300 others it seems).

Yes David Chard has bought this to hold his sales center for the Juliet. I was lucky enough to have coffee with David a while back he doesn't have any specific plans for this buildings as for now, but most definately it will be his next project, apart from his michigan street proposal.

By the way, actually meeting David Chard in person was a great experience, he is truly a gentlemen and family man.

^It was sold last year so something should be happening.
