I’m a nationalist who believes we should have a strong, modern military and coast guard.
I’d cut all government funding to CanCon, the CBC and Canada Post. All that funding would be redirected to the armed forces and coast guard.

Still exactly the same number of boats at the Gorge for the past 5 weeks. The Brentwood Bay story seems a little suspect.......
Still exactly the same 18 boats two months later..........
The promised enforcement seems slightly slowing down

The Cadboro Bay Residents Association says it’s high time Oak Bay clear out several unsightly derelict boats the group says are despoiling Cadboro Bay beach, and visible from the Saanich side.
Association chairman Eric Dahli cites “at least five beached and abandoned boats within Oak Bay municipal jurisdiction on the south end of Cadboro Bay beach” near the Uplands and the Victoria Yacht Club. He requested in a letter to Oak Bay’s mayor and council that they take “immediate steps” to get rid of them.
“For a municipality like Oak Bay that prides itself in anything that they do, they seem to have missed the boat,” Dahli said Wednesday.
It’s a stance endorsed by Oak Bay-Gordon Head MLA Andrew Weaver, whose riding includes Cadboro Bay beach. Oak Bay would be pressuring Saanich if the situation were reversed, said Weaver.
Some of the boats have been there for an extended period, especially “a burnt-out steel hulled houseboat with the engines still in it,” Dahli wrote. He said oil and other toxic materials pose an environmental and safety risk to the public, including the children of the neighbourhood.

Gorge boats have received their final reminder about the warning they received about ignoring the previous warning.
Notices have been served to owners of remaining vessels, that if their boats aren't removed, they will face court action.
The latest move is the final stage of a three-phase approach to remove the two dozen or so illegally-moored vessels anchored in the Gorge for a number of years.

You'd get more action out of a midnight row with a drill and a flashlight...

Last month, the city served notice to owners of 11 of the 18 boats anchored near the Selkirk Trestle that it was seeking a court order to enforce its bylaws against long-term moorage.
The owners were given 21 days to respond. The city has continued the process of locating and serving the remaining owners. No owner has responded.

Tired of waiting for Oak Bay, the CRD, the province or federal government to take action on a pile of derelict boats on the Oak Bay end of the Cadboro Bay beach, a group of Saanich and Oak Bay residents are going to deal with the issue themselves.
Spearheaded originally by the Cadboro Bay Residents Association, the group has partnered with the Oak Bay Residents Association, Royal Victoria Yacht Club, Veins of Life Watershed Society, Saanich, C-Tow and Ralmax, to clear out about 16 derelict boats, and pieces of them, that have been there for years.
"I've never been so proud to be part of a group effort," said Dahli, adding the neighbourhood residents are highly supportive.
Smugglers Cove plans to host the volunteers for an end-of-shift celebration.
"Put on your rubber boots and bring a shovel," said Dahli.
The work party clean up starts at 10 a.m. on May 13, which is low tide.
Go figure eh, just go do the damn work yourselves. Maybe this can be a nice model.

Ah.....didn't Helps just announce living in cars was a solution? Why not boats? The CoV is just going through the motions and doesn't want to do anything. Same as they are stalling on doing anything about their precious Police Chief.
