Making progress! The fireplace will be missed but check out all this glorious light! Ocean views from every corner, the new and improved taproom will be better than ever. Stay tuned for the date of our grand reopening. In the mean time, join us for delicious beer and food on the main level. Open every day from 8am- 11pm. Cheers!

Fully re opened last friday night. Its a huge improvement, (not difficult) more windows, walls removed, light and airy but what a missed opportunity to make it special !

I went into Spinnakers last night for beers and dinner.  OMG, with the fire-induced renovations,  is the upstairs ever noisy now that the middle wall and fireplace/ chimney is gone.  It's one big echo chamber. My ears are still ringing. The lighting is vastly improved, but it comes off as a cafeteria now.  :(

Think about the staff, who are there for longer periods. Hopefully the employer will address this, otherwise it could easily become a WorkSafe matter.

Went in last week. HAdn't been there is a while. Never had an issue with previous visits?

This experience was just not good. Ordered a Pilsner ... sorry we don't have that. OK then something close.

Look at the menu ... (Dinner time) Just nothing jumped out at me. Ok how about the clam chowder.

Soup came. Just evil. I am no chef but I can cook and this was canned mushroom soup with some salmon floating in it.

Said - I will pass. Just give me the bill. HAppy to pay for it.

Bill came just for the beer which I didn't finish - paid it tossed the bartender a fin.

Just too hipster for me. And if people don't know who James Brown is (That was an actual convo at the bar) well I will stay the f#ck away.

Sad really - it used to be an anchor pub abd mainstay.

Spinnakers has been issued a permit to temporarily construct three gazebos in the parking lot. Bit of a patio expansion I assume?

^Seems reasonable as there's plenty of free parking nearby on Kimta.

Spinnakers also makes some craft sodas now.  I've seen them at several grocery stores.

The Spinnakers Heritage Guest house is now available as a turnkey hotel opportunity!

Built circa 1901, it underwent a full interior renovation in 1999, creating 5 sleeping units on 2 levels. The care and attention given to detail maintain the warmth and charm of the era. There are 5 bathrooms, 4 with double jetted tubs, and one with shower.

The lower units enjoy outdoor patios, while the upper floor benefits from balconies to enjoy the ocean air. The guest receives a truly Victorian experience, steps from the seawall. The building is fully sprinklered with 2 gas fired hot water tanks, ensuring no shortage of hot water. The fibreglass shingle roof was replaced in 2016, and the building has 200 Amp service. Tremendous value exists to due the much-coveted RJ-2 zoning. This is a rare commodity in a city that has dramatically reduced Air BNB opportunities. Situated in the vibrant Songhees neighbourhood, next door to an iconic pub, with a high walking score!

Who's Gordon Ramsey?

Funny, I had a double take on your question, and then I saw the date. :D

$1.9M last year:

I guess you could run it like an Air BnB with self check-in, but otherwise how do you run a 5-unit hotel if you do not live there?  Or very nearby.  If you live there you are down to 4 guest rooms.

There we go. $200k drop.

Meanwhile, a heritage house just up the road on the other end of Catherine just sold for $1.326M, well above its asking price of $1.25M.
