Green Dargon, Shadow Mountain, pot shop in 500-block of Yates, Bong Bros, pot shop in 700-block of Fort, Weeds Club are in downtown as far as the DVBA is concerned, no?

Oh ya.  Those are (except I do not know where Bong Bros is).  It's funny, my regular DVBA newsletter has not welcomed any of these new businesses.

 Beard Bros on Fort perhaps?

Ah, that would be 800-blk Fort, so not in DVBA.

Beard Bros, that's the one.

There's been no mention of them in DVBA documentation? Odd.

Isn't DVBA a voluntary outfit that you join and pay dues? If a business doesn't join why would DVBA mention it?

No, if you are in the area they run, you pay a levy on your property tax.  Or at least your landlord does, and likely passes it on to you.  You just pay $5 a year if you want to vote at their AGM.

New businesses in the catchment are routinely mentioned in the newsletter.

I have not paid my $5 in years, but I'm still listed as a business.

This is reapproved every few years (four or maybe five) by council, just like any BIA is.

Ya, that's right.  5 years I think.

Downsizing?

Yes, 70 sq. ft. was too much.

Interesting spin.

Muse Winery is for sale for 2.8 million.  It's across the street from Deep Cove Chalet.

Why? Is it not doing well? Or are they restarting the Douglas St. Superstore plan?
