^Yeah, I guess, prepay to me always meant you had to go to the counter, tell them how much you thought you might need, give them that amount, go back and pump the gas, then go retrieve your change or add to the total. a royal PITA.
I call the credit card thing "pay at the pump" rather than prepay.

There is a sign in the window at 1102 Government Street (@Fort) that says Lugaro Jewellery will be opening in the space next spring.
The space was previously occupied by a souvenir shop.

vaping is the new pot shop
They should combine the two. Then again, vaping has a few rules that are enforced so probably not a good idea!

Momease Baby Boutique will open a new location soon on Hillside, in addition to their Mattick's Farm store.

Lowe's has agreed to purchase Rona for $3.2B. Lowe's has valued the company at over two times yesterday's closing share price of $11.77.
This compares with Lowe's offer three years ago of only $1.8B.
Apparently they will be keeping the Rona store name (for now).

Hmm. Will this one be looked at by regulators first? I hate the loss of competition here. Soon there won't be any home improvement left beyond Home Depot and Lowes. That sucks.

I'd generally say the regulator will be fine with the two.
That's all we get for cable, media etc.

Rona sucks so not a big loss.... We also have Slegg and Castle....

Huh? Locally, we'll basically be just replacing Rona with Lowe's. What about Canadian Tire, Wal Mart, Costco, Home Hardware, Slegg, Castle, Lumberworld, Windsor Plywood, Sears and the myriad number of paint stores around?
Now that I think of it, I don't think I have ever been inside a Rona store.
On the bright side, at least Rona wasn't bailed out by the Quebec or Federal government...

http://www.cfax1070....toria-this-yearThere are fewer boarded up storefronts in downtown Victoria now than there were a year ago.
The downtown retail vacancy rate fell last year to 8.5 per cent, from 10.2 a year earlier, according to the annual market survey from commercial real estate firm Colliers International.
The increase in activity is mostly in the form of restaurants, with demand driven largely by a growing downtown population of tech industry workers.
Meanwhile, the shopping centre vacancy rate rose slightly, from five to 5.2 per cent, but Colliers says that s not bad considering the year started with the closure of two Target stores, vacating large chunks of Hillside and Tillicum Centres.

Increase is mostly restaurants? Not the 23 weed stores?
Interesting spin.
