Titanic 2 is returning as well, scheduled to sail 2022.

https://en.wikipedia...wiki/Titanic_II

Awful lot of time and money being spent for a ship to do one sailing. (not even one)

Point Hope has been doing a huge amount of Canadian Navy work in the last year. Here ia another vessel about to be re-floated, probably tomorrow morning.

The Australian Navy has much better looking patrol boats IMO

Probably a newer design.....

They are from 2005, but they look like a patrol boat should, like they mean business.

Ours just look like they don't want to offend anyone.

• Open house at Point Hope Maritime shipyard, 345 Harbour Rd., on Sunday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The annual open house at Point Hope Maritime on Sunday, being billed as a family-friendly way of celebrating Father’s Day while giving dad a taste of a working shipyard, is doubling up as a means of drawing new faces and talent into the world of industrial construction.

With a protracted labour shortage still hanging over all economic sectors, the labour-intensive industrial and construction sectors are using all options to get the word out about the opportunities available in places like Point Hope Maritime.

That’s why the shipyard, which is part of the Ralmax Group of industrial companies, is the landscape for the job fair, which will sit alongside entertainment, artists, exhibits and tours available to the public.

“Right now everyone is hiring,” said Dave Bukovec, general manager of Ralmax’s United Engineering, which has worksites in Sidney and on the water at Point Hope.

Bukovec said the job fair, which will feature representatives from all the Ralmax companies including Chew Excavating and Trio Ready Mix, is part of a suite of initiatives that includes working with colleges and high schools and using traditional advertising to highlight the career opportunities available.

Point Hope shipyard marks 150 years and counting on the Upper Harbour

Called Point Hope since 1938, it’s the last surviving shipyard in a harbour that once housed a thriving maritime industry. Open house on Sunday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., 345 Harbour Rd.

See how things can change? From a thriving harbour, to just one shipyard left.

On Sunday, Point Hope is holding a job fair and open house between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. to attract more people to the trades, where they can earn up to $80 an hour, and sometimes more. Tours are open to the public, and prospective workers will be able to speak directly with general managers and employees in nine of Ralmax’s industrial companies.

Overall, the Ralmax Group of Companies has about 300 unionized employees in its 11 firms, ranging from fabrication and concrete to heavy duty mechanics and recycling.

It says it’s looking to hire more employees not only for the shipyard but across its groups of companies and can take on up to a dozen sponsored apprenticeships every year.

Ralmax says it hired three workers in the shipyard alone this week, including a welder and two metal fabricators. United Engineering, another shipyard company, is looking for welders.

Ralmax, which currently has 16 job openings, including seven in trades, noted that shipyard jobs depend on the number of ships in for work and there are times when workers are transfered to drydock work at CFB Esquimalt or are laid off temporarily.
