There has never been a walkway that served any use for anyone at the Metropolitan and I moved here the year it was built.

It has a whole new look!

It literally ends on a wall. I suspect it was incorporated by planners of the day who hoped the Fort Street side of the block would be developed.

It would have cool as that block is missing one our great mid-block walkways.

Anyone know when the move in dates will begin?

I was under the impression that some folks were already moving in (or will be soon), but that occupancy dates will be staggered.

Oh there was a discernible reason, alright. Quite a few of them.

They moved it forward because that area became a hiding place for trouble makers, groups of people binge drinking, urination, drug use, drug dealing, a "come down" spot for people too high or too drunk to lumber along, fights, and refuse. It's amazing what a little nook in an urban setting under the partial cover of a tree will yield.

*shrug* Different experiences I guess. My partner and I lived in the Met for the better part of a year before they moved the gate forward and only maybe 2-3 times saw anybody in that nook (who wasn't just a building resident out for a cigarette), never really heard any noise or saw any mess. We face the back though so maybe it was more of a problem for the lower floors in that corner. We just chalked it up to the overzealous strata looking for non-existent problems to solve.

Disappointed to know the path just ends in a wall though. Was hoping for some sort of secret garden or interdimensional portal or something more worthy of being gated off.  <_<

To get back on topic, has anyone checked out the show suite yet? I keep meaning to go over but haven't made the time yet.

Oh yeah, it was pretty bad. Every other night you'd have people gathering there and too often it'd lead to residents along that corner of the building being woken up, having to call 9/11 when fights broke out, etc. It didn't help that the way the concrete wall was built it was perfectly suited for sitting on.

My barber mentioned to me that he's moving in July 1, so consider that the outside time frame.  I'm sure that others will be moving in beforehand.

I find it interesting how Yello is hard to spot on the skyline, but it's really imposing once you get within a block or two of the building. Turned out to be a really good eye candy IMO

Despite the lack of windows and it's wideness, this one did turn out quite well. It looks good from Yates, Blanshard and View.

Is that extra parking? Is no spot included with an apartment?

It's not included in the rental price I believe. So if you're renting a $1,400 suite with parking you'd pay $1,575.

That's right, my friends are paying 1500 plus parking.

Only V1488 includes parking for two bedroom suites and $100 fee for one beds or extra stalls. My building is $150/month, I believe.

Does anyone know what percentage of the units have been rented out already?

There seems to be less than 10 units still up for rent in their website, so I'm guessing nearly all of them are gone.
