@SkyeRyanCHEK:

“The last we heard she went on a boat with a strange man & it doesn’t sound safe,” friend of #missing woman Laura Huebner tells ⁦ @CHEK_News

⁩The Saskatchewan woman was on holiday on Vancouver Island Apr. 24 when she vanished. Her last text was a pic of this boat in Sidney

@NanaimoRCMP tracked the boat to Nanaimo & escorted it into dock but aren’t providing any further details. Laura Huebner hasn’t been heard from since Apr. 25. A day after she travelled here from Regina “for a break, for fun.” Her family is very worried

The old strange man unsafe boat trip trick.

Seen it a million times back in Vietnam. During my tour.

More from CHEK:

Laura Huebner was full of hope, ready to be free of responsibility for a while when she boarded a plane from Regina for Victoria on April 24, says her longtime friend.

“She was working three jobs, that takes a lot out of someone. She just had lost her mom a few months ago and she just said you know I’m going to Victoria for a break. The last words I said were ‘have fun in Victoria,'” said Danika Wright, Huebner’s friend of more than 20 years, from her home outside Regina.

Screenshot 2022-05-07 17.52.37.png

According to friends, the single 47-year-old was also going to meet a man in Victoria that they didn’t know.

Soon after arriving, Huebner’s friends say he offered to take her on a date on his sailboat and that she sent a photo to her dad on April 25 — her last communication before vanishing.

“She was planning on coming back because we talked about working together. She was excited about going back and working on some films. So I know she wasn’t planning to go away and not come back right,” said Wright.

Saturday marked nine days since Huebner was expected to fly home to Regina and there still hadn’t been a word from her on social media, by text or phone call to friends.

“I’m not optimistic, just because of the situation. That the last we heard was she went on a boat with a strange man and it doesn’t sound safe. You know we don’t know the details. And I would say that’s a dangerous thing to do,” said Wright.

Those who love Laura Huebner are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

A lot of drifters go missing, for sure.

Much less - stable, family people.

If you are a 47-year-old last reported meeting an unknown man, further details might be sketchy.

Who knew?

Far be it for me to give life advice, but if you are over 45 and unmarried, with no significant career, you best be very cautious.

This article says she was destined for Victoria. But the police releases said she was destined for the mid-Island.

Nanaimo police say she flew in from Saskatchewan, the article above suggests she lives in Regina. But her Facebook profile says she lives in Calgary, with a February 1st public photo update.

There are a lot of inconsistencies here, it seems.

“It’s believed that she left Victoria on or about the 24 and arrived in or around the Nanaimo area on that same day,” said O’Brien.

The boat she sent her dad the photo of has been tracked to Nanaimo, where police escorted it into dock Monday (May 2), where it appeared to be guarded by RCMP, as its deck was tarped off to protect it from falling rain.

It sounds as though police are holding something back.

So it's possible she's deceased and they're waiting for warmer weather to do a full forensic sweep of the boat?

Warmer weather...what is this, Yellowknife and permafrost?

Wrong words to use. Warmer was typed up but I meant stable weather (without rain).

That’s what I mean about police holding something back. Are we supposed to be looking for her, or is she on that boat, or is she missing from that boat? What does the boat owner say?

Blood or other evidence on the deck of the boat that's easily washed away by rain, no body means no declaration of murder, and the police are still "looking" for the person of interest.

But she could still be alive ... having been the perpetrator of a violent crime against the boat owner or a passenger onboard ... perhaps we've all got this completely backwards.

I suspect we’ll never hear about it - again. Like often. People get killed. Few are convicted.

Yup, that's a killa alright...a regular Aileen Wuornos.

You, V.V.'s resident "crime reporter" - basing a persons capacity to murder on how they look?

You should hide your head in shame.

Let's take little cutie Mary Bell for example ... a serial killer at 11 years old.

https://viralnova.com/mary-bell/

Deflates your "appearance" theory completely!
