Erect in time for the Royal's...

Didn't Prince Andrew used to have a T-shirt that said the same thing?

Well this slipped by unnoticed it seems...

In addition to a couple requests to fix up two heritage homes, the Province brought a proposal for alterations to the Legislature lawn to the Heritage Advisory Panel. Note that no permits are required for the Province's proposal, so their request for feedback from the Panel is out of courtesy. Complete agenda package is online here: https://www.victoria...ion- June 9.pdf

The proposal would widen the sidewalk, add pathways to "square off" the Legislature lawn, add benches and raised lawns for additional informal seating, add security bollards at the driveway entrance, and increase the plaza area around the cenotaph to accommodate larger crowds and add perimeter seating. One tree will be removed and replaced with a new Dogwood, and the Sir James Douglas monument will be relocated within one of the new raised lawns.

Again because this is a project of the Province, there are no City approvals required so I have no idea what the timeline is here

i'm in favour.  make that as pretty as we can.  add some haunted tours too.  even if you have to make up the stories.  too early for basi/virk ghosts?  what about the logsplitter?

As much as I think this is a worthwhile project, is this the best time to be spending provincial taxpayer dollars on aesthetics?

The upgrades looks solid. And the security improvements are necessary in a world that’s getting stranger by the day.

Know it all.

Looks like a lot of energy is being used to illuminate the Legislature. Perhaps during this "emergency" the lights could be turned off.

Pretty sure we aren’t running short of hydro power at the moment…
