A lot a talk about the liability of the golf course, but the individual golfer could be in much worse trouble. Hope he has insurance
What kind of insurance would cover this??

I guess there are a few holes where a bad mis-shot can go wrong.
3, 6, 11. But you have to be pretty unlucky to have it enter a car window. 6 is really the only one that expects you to drive it towards the road. I guess maybe #14 could go wrong.

Part of your household insurance called voluntary property damage.
Section 2 – Liability:
Legal Liability or Personal Liability – This portion of home insurance applies at your home or anywhere in the world to bodily injury you may unintentionally cause to others – often referred to as “third parties” – or to accidental damage you may do to their property. For example, suppose a visitor were to be injured by slipping on a wet floor in your home, and you were judged to be legally responsible, you would be covered for the damages you were legally obliged to pay because of the injury.
Voluntary Medical Expense – This covers you if you or another member of your household injures someone else unintentionally (or even intentionally, if the injury is caused by a child 12 years of age or younger), you may compensate that person for the losses, regardless of whether you are legally liable, and your policy will reimburse you (check your policy for dollar limits). This coverage is standard in most homeowner policies.

Never seen a duck hook?
That's an offensive stereotype. Human golfers are just as likely to hit an extreme hook shot as duck golfers.

Which reminds me, what's the verdict on the haunted mini golf place?

Nobody's been to the haunted mini golf place?

Is it perhaps in a spectral realm that many of us are unable to reach?

Interesting point.

Taylor Pendrith tried his best to ignore Ben Kohles' final-hole meltdown, focusing on the eagle putt that the Canadian thought he might have to make even to force a playoff as he walked toward the 18th green.
Several stunning minutes later, a 3-footer for birdie gave Pendrith his first PGA Tour victory.

Provincial sport minister Lana Popham quipped she is a “terrible” golfer but covers that up by only entering scramble tournaments. But she is among the saviours of B.C.’s lone annual professional golf tournament as the province announced it is contributing $100,000 to hosting the 41st Beachlands Victoria Open, presented by the Times Colonist, from June 20-23 at Uplands.
“Sports events play an important role in the vibrancy of a community,” said Popham.
“Sport is a powerful motivator toward mental health and leads to physical activity which leads to positive outcomes. We know how much work goes into an event like this.”
The province will contribute next year, also, said Keith Dagg of the organizing committee, although the total for 2025 has yet to be determined.
The Victoria Open will offer a purse of $225,000 US this year with the winner taking home $40,000 U.S. It is part of the PGA Tour Americas, from which the top golfers advance to the Korn Ferry Tour, which is one step from the PGA Tour in the pro golf ladder.
PGA Tour Canada and PGA Tour Latinoamérica merged into a single entity to form PGA Tour Americas, beginning play this year. The new combined PGA Tour Americas features 16 tournaments, six in Latin America and 10 in North America, the latter beginning with the Beachlands Victoria Open. The 16 tournaments each offer purses of $225,000 US for a total of $3.6-million US.

It seems to me this tournament has never really tried that hard to get attendance numbers up.
Government (BC taxpayers) to the rescue I guess.
$100,000.

When the cost to host seven World Cup soccer games at BC Place in 2026 is currently estimated to be between $483 million and $581 million, I'm not especially concerned about "wasting" $100,000 on a local golf tournament.

A 30 year old PGA tour golfer got sick, withdrew from the tournament, then died. Odd.
