It has already scared away everyone from the upper and lower causeways.

That CGI/CIBC building is surely an eyesore. Thankfully the Yates on Yates and its sister building are short and far enough not to make any major impact from this vantage point, although I still say that from close-up, those are really ugly buildings.

I am a little surprised that this building has not sold out yet. Wonder if there is some buyer remorse with the neighborhood changing.

With the Old Town intact, Victoria here does have a bit of London feel to it, doesn't it? Too bad it wasn't built like this all the way further inland.

Only if one has never visited or seen pictures of the real London (UK).

We stopped going downtown unless absolutely necessary. It has just become too grubby.

I have on multiple occasions, and still feel that way from that little section of Victoria.

Speaking of amazing rooftop spaces that nobody cares about, I nominate the roof of that old building on the corner there. It could be a killer pub/restaurant/event space. Or add an additional level of apartments and set them back from the edge a bit to create some terrific terrace space.

How did you manage to snap a pic of the front side from the back side? You must be a very skilled photographer.
The critics were right, this building is such an eyesore. Not only did it ruin the inner harbour and Government Street, but it also ruined the Broughton Street parkade and I suspect it probably ruined Beacon Hill Park and Willows Beach, too.

I thought the front was where all the fighting was happening.

I was just kidding around, but I suppose I would call the Government Street side the front if that's where the main entrance is for accessing the condos. But aren't the front and the back normally on opposite sides? In this case the back side would surely be the side along Courtney Street.
