"Restaurants will not be allowed to serve food containing cannabis."So much for Trees' next project - what are the odds they'll go ahead anyways and see no consequences from the City?
Rules don't apply in Victoria. I am sure that the CoV will license them in such a way that they work around the regs.
Alex Robb contributed the maximum of $1,200 to each of Ben Isitt, TV, and Jeremy Loveday during the past election campaign.

They were planning to open soon and just be a normal restaurant until edibles were legalized. If they're successful enough in these first few months perhaps they'll just stick to that, while lobbying for changes to the rules. Maybe. I have a couple of coupons so I'll check them out when they open regardless and ask what their plans are.
They passed their VIHA inspection last week to open and operate: https://www.healthsp...41?OpenDocument

You may be thinking of Tilray and A-B teaming up to make infused bevvies: https://www.marketwa...inks-2018-12-19 - not alcoholic, but THC infusions. Tilray has been working the kinks out of water-soluble cannabinols for the last year in anticipation.

Those do look tasty, but will they give me dry-mouth like the cheap weed of my misspent youth? (/s - but at the same time I do have concerns about overdoing it if one is already inebriated)

The people behind the Mole and Trees partnership seem undeterred by this latest news..
Matt.
No doubt because they have been told not to worry about it.

News flash Farnworth, while you sleep all snuggly in your bed not 'worrying' about this, Cowichan Tribe members did and are losing sleep. How entitled of you Farnworth. What a system.
B.C. would nix government cannabis store to cool fight with Cowichan Tribes
........“I’d be quite happy if the application didn’t go anywhere at this time,” Farnworth said of the government store application. “If there’s no public store in Cowichan, I’m not going to lose sleep over that.”
The Cowichan Tribes has been waiting six months for a cannabis licence from the province, but is stuck in bureaucratic red tape waiting for security clearance.
Chief William Seymour has said it seems as if one arm of the government is delaying the licence, so that another arm can outmanoeuvre Cowichan Tribes for local approval at the region’s largest shopping plaza, north of Duncan.
The matter was made worse by the government’s cannabis branch writing an April letter to the District of North Cowichan urging it to abandon the Cowichan Tribes application and focus on the government store because Cowichan Tribes had yet to obtain provincial approval.
Farnworth denied there’s a co-ordinated campaign.

^ So the "security check" they are having difficulty obtaining is the background check ensuring that members of organized crime are not involved with the business?

Yet the Provincial gov. was given a 'pass' on the background 'check' even though the Province participated in organized crime (money-laundering etc.) This is all a joke right?

I am pretty sure that anyone involved in the running of the Government pot and liquor shops is not associated with organized crime.
