CBC: Investigators found that Casey fired her ejection seat point-four seconds after the pilot.

whoops.

well they both ejected at an altitude below where it is most safe (not that an ejection is ever really safe).

if he hadn't banked and lost altitude they'd have ejected higher.

IIRC the T33's have a command ejection seat, both seats sequentially eject when the pilot "pulls the handle" Tutors don't but should have.

A detailed report of everything that happens before and during the course of an accident is a typical procedure for incidents involving aircraft crashes.

Some of the procedures might be identified as contributing to the course of events which took place, but all those procedural reports actually indicate is what did happen versus what might have, or what could have happened.

If indeed "pilot error" enters into the equation at any point, then the RCAF investigating board would identify the pilot error as exactly that, in bold PILOT ERROR ... in service to the goal of advancing aircraft safety for other pilots flying the same type of aircraft, or engaging in the same type of flying parameters.

Once again, there is no reference ... zero reference ... anywhere in the official RCAF report to any sort of "pilot error".

You are conflating a detailed re-telling of the events that actually occurred with your desire to act as arm-chair expert and advance some sort of idea that "your" ideas as to what the pilot should have done would have changed the outcome ... in other words, you're saying the pilot was guilty of "pilot error", whereas the RCAF is factually documenting events, with no reference anywhere to "pilot error" ... and not to put too fine a point on it ... but you have no experience or expertise that would allow you to advance such a concept with any authority.

On the Global Vancouver broadcast they said they were going to do the Victoria fly over tomorrow.

I guess we will find out which was correct.

I believe it is the CF 18 demo team tomorrow then the Snowbirds Monday.

the video i posted from vancouver shows the snowbirds in formation along with the cf-18 too.

Expect to hear the roar of jet engines over Vancouver Island Sunday as the CF-18 Demonstration Team conducts a flypast to recognize the hard work and sacrifices of front-line workers.

He should be over Greater Victoria at around 2 p.m., landing at Victoria International Airport about 2:30 p.m.

Deluce’s route will take him over Nanaimo Regional Hospital, Royal Jubilee Hospital and Victoria General Hospital.

His twin-engined, multi-role fighter jet will feature a classic hornet-grey palette with an eagle on the tail to represent vigilance, agility, readiness and speed. The feathers of the eagle are eight maple leaves, representing eight of the nine iconic Canadian Forces Snowbirds Tutor aircraft.

There was no parking up Mt. Tolmie by the time I got there.  It's just the one plane today anyway, I'll try again tomorrow (have the day "working" from home while I wait for the carpet cleaner).

Afternoon: Take off from Comox at 1pm
👉Sooke
Victoria:
👉Victoria General Hospital
👉CFB Esquimalt
👉Downtown Core
👉Gorge Road Hospital
👉Glengarry Hospital
👉Royal Jubilee Hospital
👉Queen Alexandra Centre for Children’s Health
👉Saanich Peninsula Hospital
👉Sidney
👉YVR

Comox is only about 200km from Sooke. And the planes can do over 700kmh. So you could expect them here by around 1:20pm or 1:30pm.

You can follow them down the Island in real time here:

https://www.flightra...49.06,-124.57/9

Only one plane shows up on the "radar", and that plane is going to be identified as SNWBD1

(BTW, this technology isn't flawless, but it generally works. You have to double click on a plane to identify it).

Yeah ... it's totally dependent on the lead plane turning on their transponder, which they seem to do, or not-do with no real protocol.

The lead plane just radioed YYJ, so they’re close by … sans transponder.
