Franc D'Ambrosio did do some drawings for the park that could have been between the 500 blocks of Yates and Johnson. I have just put an update post on my blog here: http://sidewalkingvi...oria-paper.html

It really was a cool idea, too bad it never came about. Thank you to Franc D'Ambrosio for providing the plans!

I stopped reading at the sponsor message.  It appears you've sold out.

j/k.

Ha, you guys sucked me in. I hurriedly clicked to see who the sponsor was. None other than our fearless leader.

Nice travel blog G-Man. Well done. Keep sharing.

Another couple Portland neighbourhoods for all of you to read about. It was hot and dry when I was there, so a nice change from this morning.

The Maritime Museum has a side entrance off of Nootka Court as well as their main entrance on Humboldt Street.

Just posted my comments on the SW site. I must admit I mostly forget about NC since I stopped working in the building about 10 years ago. I'll have to check it out again one of these days.

Nice work G-Man.

I remember when Felice operated a restaurant/bar there in the 70's it catered to restaurant and bar workers when they got off shift so it was a late night kind of place. Nootka Court was kinda busy back then.

I think it might have been called Veridi's but I might be wrong. The liquor store drew a lot of foot traffic as well.

There was one of the original BC liquor stores on that site that faced Douglas street. It was displaced during the development when Hans Hartwig got his hands on it. I assume that the liquor control board had first dibs on one of the new spaces.

Liquor stores of old were tradiditionally adorned with a black ceramic tile facia.

Was that before or after Woodwards was there?
