Are there Cat5e/Cat6 jacks in all the places you'd expect?

Yes! There are three Ethernet jacks in the walls of apartment with cat 5e connected to router. I put the Telus router in bridge mode and have my own router in living room.

This is incorrect, the building (like most new buildings?) is hooked up for fibre. I have fibre with them currently in my unit. If you open your closet hookup you can see the green/white fibre wire to the router

Dude. Thanks. I'll call Telus again.  I provided the S/N of the Fibre box to Telus customer support this morning but was still informed the building wasn't set up...

IOU, neighbour!

/snip

I get possession of my suite in a few days so would be happy to share pics of the windows by end of week to help make your life easier!

ollivier1, here is a link to an imgur album of the windows/balcony in my unit facing the inner courtyard.

No idea if the layout or dimensions of your unit face the same challenges as mine (eg: our balcony door swings inward, we have a pillar, etc)

The rep at Ruffell Brown was an excellent guide/experience for us when we chose our window treatments with her.

We went with dual rollers with the automated battery pack thingie, as we wanted room darkening options.  There were various limitations in the treatments available so this option met the criteria important to us.  The rep at Ruffell-Brown helped us navigate a few different lines of products to figure out what worked best for us.

Does anyone know how to turn on their oven? Mine seems to have no power or clock showing and the manual says nothing about that. Help. Thanks!

Ok update... the breaker was off. There’s the answer if anyone has this issue 🙃

Would someone who's moved into the north building be able to confirm whether or not the light switches are smart switches? I recall reading that somewhere, but can't find it now. Just wondering if I need to start looking at buying my own for my eventual move-in 1-12 months from now :1954_dancing:

It is very interesting that there are different prices for almost same layout and SQF.

$1,250 listing is going to have the pick of the litter, but no pets.

$1,600 listing is a broken link or already rented, but very average price-wise for a 1BR.

$1,850 faces into a courtyard, which makes it a bit of a tough sell, but it’s dog and cat friendly which is highly coveted among renters.

$1,900 is a show piece unit, best views of the lot, and allows dogs and cats. Will it get $1,900? Maybe. But $1,750-$1,800 hands down.

IMO

The +den could probably fetch 1950-2000, top floors are hard to come by in DT for obvious reasons. And maybe it's just me but I'd much rather face the inner courtyard than Harris Green park or any of the DT streets...

The others are effectively studios with their size, it's fairer to compare them to other studios. Anywhere from 1300-1500 would strike me as "fair" (the 1250 unit is getting a bargain, relatively speaking). Not sure of the value of parking, tends to come at a premium in DT but due to the size of the units and location you'll have a lot of carless occupants.

What would a 2BD +den rent for in the market?  ( just curious)

The listing for $1250 is very suspicious as whoever posted it used all my pictures. We had our unit listed for $1500, but removed the ads about a week ago as we decided on not renting it out at this time.

Wow. The one for $1600 is almost all my pictures for our unit that we rented out last week! Very suspicious!

Strongly suggest that you contact the police regarding the rentals using your pictures. There is a number of rental scams.

Oh yeah, I’d get on that with VicPD. Also, consider embedding watermarks into your photos. There should also be a way to identify the listings as fake on those platforms.

Weird. I can’t view the link.

The link I was emailed since I subscribe to this thread worked for me, but you’re right the link in the thread doesn’t work. If you go to craigslist and search for “wade” there’s 4 results. The $1600 one comes up.
