I'm surprised we haven't even seen so much as a rendering of what future phases of Ironworks will look like considering this building is essentially complete. As much as I love this building, I hope for a bit of variation in future phases as the "gears" motif will feel a bit gimmicky along an entire block.

The corner commercial unit at Store and Chatham has been leased according to signs on the door, but no indication of who.

An ad showed up on FB today for rentals in this building. Rented by Le Fevre. So was this in the plan all along or are they having trouble selling them?

Plans change and with unsold inventory and high rents probably makes sense to rent. Given they haven't started on the final phase of Railyards probably not in a huge hurry to sell.

I heard a rumour that the remaining stages of ironworks aren't gonna be residential.

imagine the irony if the last stages were to be for industrial uses - say, an ironworks.

that would really throw a wrench in the spanner.  that kind of news would drop like an anvil.  but you know what they say - you simply have to forge ahead.

The residents would put up a steel curtain first.

Is this rumour as good as gold? I'm not trying to slag it, but I'd hate to see this board's reputation get tarnished.

I think probably worst case scenario it would become a light manufacturing plant for various iron products.

irons (for laundry).
curling irons.
tire irons.
iron supplements (vitamins).
iron lungs (medical equipment).

those would all be allowed under current zoning automatically.

In this economic environment anything is possible, I guess.

^No doubt. It's zinc or swim these days.

Maybe a gym? Instead of Steve Nash Fitness World how about Jeremy Irons Pumping Iron?

Anyway, I'm sure the details will get smoothed out.

Yep. Whatever works. We shouldn't get too worked up about it.

If you're trying to start a steel pun thread cast your efforts elsewhere. They become carbon copies of each other they're so repetitive and if I had a nickel for each effort I'd have a blast.

No need for railing accusations. I'm not an ingot, I get the point. I'll crawl back under my manhole cover now.

The Ironworks building by Le Fevre & Co. is located right in the heart of Victoria’s vibrant Old Town neighbourhood, and just steps to the waterfront, cafes, entertainment and shopping. Built in 2020 by Campbell Construction, the building features a distinctive Corten Steel exterior, as well as multiple elements both inside & outside of the building that pays homage to the historic character of the neighbourhood. This top-floor corner unit with high ceilings and large windows on two sides gets great light and provides an engaging vantage point to view the energetic streets below. From the living room and balcony, you can take in the water-view of Victoria Harbour and enjoy the evening sun and colourful sunsets. The unit is finished with stylish Farrow & Ball wallpaper and paint and includes in-suite laundry, a secure underground parking space with bike storage for two bikes, a separate storage locker, and access to the peaceful resident-only garden terrace on the 2nd floor. Come see this iconic building for yourself and fall in love with the view, location, and designer finishes of this stylish condo.
