No need for the RCMP to label this a "disturbing crime"?

I think it is disturbing especially when they just fished a dead body out of that lake.

A shooting suspect has been arrested by Sooke and West Shore RCMP on Woodlands at Blythewood in the Saseenos area.

The man fled to Sooke in a Ford Explorer following a shooting in Langford. Police identified the suspect when a shotgun shell fell out of his pocket as the individual fled on foot during a traffic stop.

There is currently no information on the victim(s).

Know it all.

A shotgun fell out of his pocket? That is one big pocket!

shotgun shell.  and a shotgun is really at the lower end of the scale of what a "gun" is.  do we have a "just barely a crime" thread? then we can also move the david screech talk over to there too.

Anything to get the Screech topic out of the speculation tax thread is OK by me.

It would have to be an RCMP press release that reports the capture of a shooting suspect before there's even a hint of a press release about the person allegedly being shot!

You'd think if people were shooting shotguns at other people out in Langford, the folks who try to live normal lives out there would have a right to know what was going on?

some woman went on a real bender starting at the crystal pool.  details coming.

On April 4, 2019 at around 1:45PM, a woman entered the Crystal Pool in Victoria and said that she had been stabbed. Without waiting for emergency services to arrive, the woman left and walked up Quadra Street into Saanich where she broke into a house on Holmes Street and stole a set of car keys for the homeowner’s Honda CRV. The homeowner, who was in the house at the time, heard her CRV being unlocked and saw the woman inside it. The homeowner ran outside and confronted the woman, but was not able to prevent her from reversing out of the driveway and driving off onto Quadra Street.

Saanich Police responded to the 9-1-1 call and spotted the stolen CRV northbound on the Pat Bay Highway. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle by the weigh scales but the woman refused to pull over and continued northbound, running a red light at Sayward Road. The officers determined it was not safe to pursue her and pulled over to the side of the road.

A few minutes later, Central Saanich Police responded to a roll over crash in the 7200 block of the Pat Bay Highway. It turned out to be the stolen CRV, that had gone off the highway to the right. After crashing the CRV, the woman flagged down a passing motorist and asked to be taken to the Saanich Peninsula hospital.

The woman did not go into the hospital though. Rather she walked off and attempted to flag over another vehicle not far away. Central Saanich Police soon located the woman running on Bourne Terrace and arrested her.

Most of the goods we use here on the Island are routed through Vancouver.

Same goes for drugs

It took 3 years to investigate, charge, and get these characters to the courthouse. All a waste of time because of The Charter of Rights. Give me a break. I assume that the bleeding heart Liberals think that this was Justin’s dad’s best work.

Bullshit.

Wanted man arrested: drugs and replica firearm seized

A wanted man was arrested yesterday after a traffic stop was conducted in Langford.

On April 10, 2019, at around 3:00 p.m., the West Shore RCMP Bike Unit observed a vehicle depart a residence known to them for its association with criminal activity in Langford. Following a traffic stop initiated on the vehicle, police officers recognized the lone male driver as a 37 year old Langford man who had outstanding warrants for his arrest stemming from a previous West Shore RCMP investigation. The warrants for his arrest were in relation to alleged death threats. The man is well known to police.

A search incidental to arrest yielded a collapsible baton, a modified airsoft pistol with a silencer, and suspected drug substances.

The man was taken into custody pending a court appearance this morning for his warrants. Police will be forwarding another report to Crown Counsel for consideration of charges in relation to the weapons and drugs seized.

Unfortunately I think that the most effective tactic is simply the shakedown and seizure of property.

I said all along with the pot shops that we didn't need to be concerned about trying to prosecute people, just have the cops drop by every day and take all of the drugs and cash and they would soon be gone.

In the case of the CoV, they did neither.

or all a waste of time because VPD acted blatantly improperly. it was more that just one search they did with no warrant.

^ this case if looking very far from typical.  68-year-old shooter.   60's and 70's aged victims.
