viccrimestop Please help identify this "Dear" Suspect. He has been captured on CCTV at Tillicum Mall taking a $2000 semi electric bike.

The bike was a RBSM Sport Semi Electric bike with black and white stripes on it.

The owner locked it securely by the entrance where Starbucks and London Drugs are. When they returned they discovered that their only mode of independent transport had been stolen. Quite rightly they are extremely upset.

Thanks to the security staff at the mall we are able to share these CCTV images of the suspect, note how brave he is in the last picture by completely covering his face with a mask.

We would love for you to unmask him and tell us who is, and if you know the location of the bike that would be even better!

Call us 1-800-222-8477 or submit a tip online at victoriacrimestoppers.ca

You will remain anonymous and hopefully the thief won't!

Woman killed in Nanaimo sought to help others struggling with mental health, mother says

JUNE 20, 2021

Amy Watts, who was found dead in Nanaimo on June 3, 2021, is being remembered as strong, intelligent and courageous.

Janice Coady’s greatest hope is that her daughter’s death can somehow keep another person alive.

The body of her daughter, 27-year-old Amy Watts, was found this month in a wooded ravine in downtown Nanaimo. RCMP announced this week that her death is being investigated as a homicide.

“It’s unreal to know and see this type of thing happens to people,” she said. “There are no words for it.”

Help Us Locate This Unique Adult Tricycle, Stolen From A Local Business

Date: Friday, June 18th, 2021 File: #21-23718

Victoria, BC – Patrol officers are investigating and appealing for witnesses as we search for a unique tricycle stolen from a local graphics company.

Yesterday, staff reported that the unique tricycle had been stolen from a location in the 2100-block of Store Street. The theft was captured on surveillance video and the company shared images of the trike on their social media accounts.

The tricycle is described as a black Workman tricycle. It has a black box on the back and at the time of the theft had multiple stickers reading “Metropol” on it. This tricycle is often seen in downtown Victoria as store staff use it for putting up posters.

Photographs of the tricycle are below.

Officers have been investigating since the theft was reported and have learned that a person other than the original theft suspect may have been recently seen with the tricycle. As is often the case with high-profile bicycle or tricycle theft, the tricycle’s appearance may have been recently altered.

This file remains under investigation.

If you have information about this incident, or know where this tricycle is, please call our VicPD Report Desk at (250) 995-7654 extension 1. To report what you know anonymously, please call Greater Victoria Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

Have you seen this stolen tricycle? Note, the person pictured riding in the snow is not a suspect.

Found!!...200 block of Russell St.  .... that address sounds familiar - where would I have come across that before?!

seems almost incomprehensible that a bottle of that value would be on open display. unsecured.

it’s not normally an impulse buy.

also curious what the suspect will do with it. he’d need to be a real professional to know how to properly fence that.

Wrong licence plate leads to a stolen gun and $15,000

2021-06-23 - File #2021-10728

A Saanich man fled from a traffic stop for an incorrect licence plate which led to the seizure of a stolen firearm, $15,000 in cash and multiple ounces of suspected fentanyl, methamphetamine, cocaine and GHB.

On June 14, 2021, officers from the West Shore RCMP Drug and Organized Crime Unit and the Crime Reduction Unit were conducting an investigation in the Malahat area when they observed a vehicle traveling northbound on Highway 1, with licence plates registered to a different vehicle.

When the vehicle stopped in an empty parking lot near Duncan, police initiated a traffic stop. The vehicle immediately accelerated at a high rate of speed towards officers, ramming the front of one police vehicle and then side swiping another as it fled the area. Police did not initiate a pursuit.

Shortly after, a front line officer from the Shawnigan Lake RCMP located the vehicle and two people were taken into custody without further incident.

Investigators conducted a search of the vehicle, seizing the following items of note:

    * A Beretta handgun, loaded and previously reported stolen from Nanaimo in August of 2020;
    * $15,000 in Canadian currency;
    * Over three ounces of suspected fentanyl;
    * Smaller quantities of suspected cocaine and methamphetamine;
    * Numerous police style collapsible batons;
    * Multiple canisters of bear spray.

The West Shore Drug and Organized Crime Unit and the Crime Reduction Unit officers then executed a search warrant in Saanich, with assistance from the Saanich Police Street Crime Unit and the Greater Victoria Emergency Response Team. Police located evidence of a significant drug trafficking operation and seized a large quantity of GHB, Gamma Hydroxybutyrate. They also located a replica handgun and ammunition.

This is one example of the ongoing proactive work being done by our officers and the risks they face daily, said Superintendent Todd Preston, Officer in Charge of the West Shore RCMP, Through hard work and team work, we have disrupted a substantial drug trafficking operation and removed multiple weapons from the community.

Police have recommended charges against Brandon Seguin for Possession of Fentanyl for the Purposes of Trafficking, Possession of Methamphetamine for the Purposes of Trafficking, Flight from Peace Officer, Dangerous Operation of a Conveyance, Possession of a Prohibited Firearm and Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm. Police have also recommended charges against the passenger for Possession of a Scheduled Substance. Both Seguin (26) and the 38 year old woman are current residents of Saanich and known to police.
