existence of gas stations is a criminal matter?

I know the clothesline are for sure.

It must be.  How else do you explain their total lack of gas stations?

Matt.

UPDATE | Camper, Dog Lost After Random Attack, Back Home Safe

Date: Tuesday, June 16th, 2021 - File: #21-23051

Victoria, BC – Camper, a dog lost after a random, violent attack on Friday, is home safe tonight.

Camper was located this evening by a person walking with their dog on Hollywood Crescent. The owner’s dog located Camper and brought the owner over. The owner took Camper home and called the number on Camper’s collar. Reuniting Owners with Animals Missing (ROAM) helped get Camper home to her family.

ROAM, members of our local media community, VicPD officers, and many concerned Victorians have helped by searching for Camper over the last four days.

Camper, a brown, two year-old female pit bull, had been missing since shortly before 8 p.m. on Friday, June 11th. Patrol officers were called to the 500-block of Pembroke Street at that time for a report that a man had smashed the windows of Camper’s owner’s van with a hammer while she and her dog were inside. The woman and Camper both fled the van in an effort to escape the attack, but became separated. The suspect was arrested by officers, but Camper was not located.

The search for Camper commenced. ROAM posted notices in the area where Camper was last seen, while officers and citizens alike searched for her.

Camper is home safe after a four day search

After his arrest, officers transported the man to VicPD cells. The suspect, a 40-year-old Edmonton man, faces recommended charges of assault with a weapon and mischief. He was later released with a court date and conditions.

While this file remains under investigation, tonight VicPD officers and staff are sharing the relief and joy that comes with knowing Camper is back home, safe.

If you have information about this incident and have not yet spoken to officers, please call the VicPD Report Desk at (250) 995-7654 extension 1. To report what you know anonymously, please call Greater Victoria Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

I’m so happy for the victim and Camper.
If I were in her shoes, I don’t think I would remain in Victoria knowing that the guy who did that was released the same day.

I can't help but wonder if the Judicial system is using Covid as cover to wage a war for more $$, the same as Lisa Helps and Co. were doing?

And using us as disposable pawns.
It sure worked wonders for Helps, but it’s a despicable method.

It’s starting to feel like we live on the set of a low budget B  horror movie ,especial at night .

I guess this is what happens when you invite drug addicts and criminals to stay with you .

The judicial system is terribly underfunded. Been involved in any litigation lately? Months long delays, shortages of judges, courthouses in disrepair, lacking courthouse staff, technology from the 90's.

If your concern is that people charged with crimes are released the same day they are arrested, that's just how it's done in Canada.  It has nothing to do with the judicial system.  You need the laws to change - specifically s. 515 of the Criminal Code.

If this is your concern, you should be pleading with your elected representatives to provide more funding to the judicial system so that the administration of justice is more swift and efficient.

That is unless you are the mayor because she can’t give them the key to her house because of all the confidential documents lying around .

That's the thing.  This is all a learn as you go function, which is apparently what UVIC has evolved into.  UVIC is further and further leaning into feelings as if those are facts.  They have a decade of building a whole funding stream to support themselves based on this.

Nanaimo-Ladysmith school district employee under investigation by RCMP

June 18, 2021

NANAIMO -- RCMP in Nanaimo confirm they are investigating the actions of a School District 68 employee, at one point taking him into custody.

In a statement, police say they were informed on June 12 of an incident involving the employee and arrested the man, releasing him with conditions later that same day.

Unable to get details from the principal, (a) parent says she began talking with her son who then opened up about what had been taking place.

The mother says it appears the EA had kept in regular contact with her son and other students through social media. She also says he gave a ride to at least one of the students in his personal automobile and took boys on outings to the Colliery Dam.

“I think they were spending a fair amount of time up there and he started saying that the EA was taking them up there to watch **rnography and look at inappropriate pictures,” she said.

Help Us Locate This Unique Adult Tricycle, Stolen From A Local Business

Date: Friday, June 18th, 2021 File: #21-23718

Victoria, BC – Patrol officers are investigating and appealing for witnesses as we search for a unique tricycle stolen from a local graphics company.

Yesterday, staff reported that the unique tricycle had been stolen from a location in the 2100-block of Store Street. The theft was captured on surveillance video and the company shared images of the trike on their social media accounts.

The tricycle is described as a black Workman tricycle. It has a black box on the back and at the time of the theft had multiple stickers reading “Metropol” on it. This tricycle is often seen in downtown Victoria as store staff use it for putting up posters.

Photographs of the tricycle are below.

Officers have been investigating since the theft was reported and have learned that a person other than the original theft suspect may have been recently seen with the tricycle. As is often the case with high-profile bicycle or tricycle theft, the tricycle’s appearance may have been recently altered.

This file remains under investigation.

If you have information about this incident, or know where this tricycle is, please call our VicPD Report Desk at (250) 995-7654 extension 1. To report what you know anonymously, please call Greater Victoria Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

Have you seen this stolen tricycle? Note, the person pictured riding in the snow is not a suspect.
