I'm curious to know if District Group has sold its interest in this site (as well as the Scott Building)?  These projects no longer appear on the company's website ....

Saw six gents on site having a physically distant touchdown last week. Looks like some plywood backing has been placed around the rooftops of the smaller buildings to the west of Wellburns.

...staff recommend that Council consider supporting the revised application and advance the proposal to a Public Hearing....

I bet it still gets massacred in a public hearing. Gentrification, community amenities blah, blah blah.

Campers are gone along the Cook street frontage and screening fence is up around the welburns building as of yesterday morning (August 16).

I watched the city council meeting about the approval. I believe there was some discussion re: graffiti removal. If they would just approve the building.....

Perhaps Pandora should be re-named Fence Street.

I thought it was approved. My memory of watching the meeting was that it was approved in December and the early August meeting was to show council a number of changes they've had to make after the fact (ex. they no longer have a green roof in the plans and can no longer have trees on Cook Street as per BC Hydro). I remember council sounding disappointed that they approved something only for it to be watered down later. Maybe it was a heritage alteration permit and not a development permit?

Victoria does things in a weird order, IMHO.

Back in December, Council passed a motion to instruct staff to prepare the necessary amendment bylaw for the rezoning. They also passed a motion on the heritage alteration permit, but nothing was formally approved or issued at the December meeting.

What went to Council on August 6 were revisions to the proposal, including new approval conditions. It was basically a do-over of the December meeting, as there is no amendment bylaw prepared and staff provided the same recommendation as they did in December: to instruct staff to prepare the amendment bylaw and schedule first reading once the approval conditions are met.

TL;DR, nothing has been approved.

It was approved!

Do you know who voted for and who voted against?

Just Sarah Potts was opposed. I don't believe Dubow was present at the council meeting. Everyone else was in favour.

What?  I'm shocked.  Not.

Has she paid for anything herself or does she just live off others?

Her disclosure statement for 2019 lists a student loan.

Does that count?

Does that count?

Is she taking on a part time job as full time?  Yes.  How much did taxpayers pay on top of her student loan?
