UK had some strict lockdowns.  I don’t know if they were the most stringent though.

They didn’t seem to be that effective.

Thinking more about Australia...  Maybe China and some other Asian countries.. New Zealand...  These are places with real lockdowns.  UK had restrictions like we do/did but the populace is not as adhering to them so I would suggest they worked as well as the people allowed for them to work..  Better still over the 2 years than say a few others though.

Not sure how someone could say that strict lockdowns wouldn't reduce the spread of an airborne virus.  Seems very clear.

Strict lockdowns are from prison. They are shown to impose compliance. There is no evidence they improve health....

That wasn't the question or statement either way.  No one suggested that a lockdown would improve health.  They do however reduce spread of a virus.  Yes they harm in many ways no question.    Prisons don't work...  To close of quarters.

They do however reduce spread of a virus.

Prove it.

Prove it.

What?  You think there are 10 people in a room 3 of them have a virus that is contagious, they spend 3 days in this room.  There is a likelihood they will all have it at the end.  Now if those 10 people were isolated in their own house and locked down, there is a likelihood 3 people will have had the virus over those same 3 days.

You can rail all you want about lockdowns and I would agree with you about how terrible they would be but you cannot deny the success vs the virus that Australia has had.

Can you add the US graph as well..?  How are those first 24 months?  They have been very public about not returning to a lockdown....  But thanks for proving it for me.

So if you feel so strongly about free speech then why do you think it is ok to censor someone you don't agree with? Spotify doesn't force anyone to listen to Rogan nor does SirusXM force anyone to listen to Stern.

Anti-vax isn't about "agreeing with" or not ... it's a fundamentally stupid (and dangerous) take on an incredibly serious issue.

This ridiculous attempt to "make opposite" anti-vax with pro-vax is the height of stupidity ... they have absolutely nothing to do with each other.

It's Stupid people vs. Doctors and Virologists.

There is simply no equating of the two to be found.

You've caught yourself in an infinite loop though, name calling people you don't agree with, then asking others not to do it to you. It don't work that way.

Not at all.

There is no equating anti-vax with pro-vax.

One is the fundamentally stupid take of a group of the woefully uninformed and selfish, while the other is a requirement put forward by Doctors and Virologists in order to eradicate COVID-19 around the world.

They have nothing to do with one another, and calling a group of stupidly uninformed pundits "stupidly uninformed" is simply a factual observation of real life.

Alberta:

The number of people in hospital with the coronavirus rose to 1,418 on Wednesday, up from 1,377 on Tuesday. However, the number of COVID-19 patients in Alberta requiring intensive care dropped slightly, down to 109 on Wednesday from 111 on Tuesday.

Alberta Health reported Wednesday that 3,341 new lab-confirmed COVID-19 cases were identified over the past 24 hours. The government’s website says the province’s positivity rate now sits at 37.5 per cent.

Looks like they were really successful until a more contagious variant emerged after the lockdowns were lifted.

Most Canadians aren’t concerned about getting infected with COVID-19 because they think it won’t be any worse than the flu, suggests a new study.

The Angus Reid Institute asked more than 5,000 Canadians who haven’t been infected with COVID about how concerned they are about contracting the coronavirus.

bout 85 per cent said they believe they’ll get either a mild or manageable case — a significant increase from the 57 per cent who said the same in December 2020 before vaccinations and variants of concern came into play. Only 12 per cent fear hospitalization, while three per cent worry that getting infected could kill them.

What's stupid is Neil Young going Karen on Joe Rogan. Rogan and Spotify just laughed.

Next up, Neil Young on Rogan!

… just to claim say he’s still on Spotify.

Spotify is removing the discography of Canadian rocker Neil Young after he demanded it be taken off the platform over concerns with its connection to vaccine misinformation and comedian Joe Rogan’s podcast.

In a statement to CTVNews.ca, a Spotify spokesperson said the company regrets Young’s decision “but hope[s] to welcome him back soon.”

Wait, you think a graph showing cases increase once lockdowns were lifted proves that lockdowns don't decrease cases?
