People should be made to wear masks when they work from home.

I suspect that graph is not accurate at all. If anything, it’s the reverse.

It is from my work and it is accurate.

The remote workers are taking substantially more sick days. Feel free to speculate as to why.

I do not know how representative it is of other workplaces.

Interesting. I did some searching and everything I saw points to the overall trend being the opposite.
Are sick days paid in your workplace past the first 5? What’s the general field and number of employees?

Hundreds of Bell employees were laid off in group virtual meetings on Wednesday, according to union

https://www.cbc.ca/n...eting-1.7150683

On Wednesday, hundreds of Bell employees were supposedly laid off in 10-minute group virtual meetings, a move the union representing them called "beyond shameful." In a news release, the union claimed that Bell's human resources and labour manager read a notice and didn't allow anyone to un-mute to ask questions.

_________

About 20 per cent of Canadians still work most of their hours from home, Statistics Canada reported in January. While that's a drop from 40 per cent in 2020, it's still much higher than pre-pandemic level of seven per cent.

Bell is a shamboozle of an org. Three rounds of layoffs ago one of their VP's who is a friend got laid off - right on the heels of their ironically branded "Let's Talk" mental health campaign. A year later more folks in the Radio Sales division befell the same fate, at the same time, In February when they whacked nearly 5000 more staff two more people I knew in their Radio Sales department got chopped. Its a precarious industry and the longer you're in it, and the bigger your paycheck, the bigger the bullseye on your back....

I'm waving and cheering from the sidelines. And working. Still from home, naturally:thumbsup:

And yet CTV/Bell keeps Adam Sawatsky. He's been at CTV Vancouver Island since the start and he survives every round of layoffs.

San Juan County finds out after all these years, most employees hardly productive before.

San Juan County 'encouraged' by 32-hour workweek results after 6 months

The county announced it would be transitioning most employees to a 32-hour work week in October 2023.

They kept all the weekly salaries the same, but reduced the work week to 32 hours from 40. Still got the work done.

Some federal public servants in Ottawa wait nearly an hour each morning for a coveted spot in one of the city's suburban co-working spaces rather than endure the commute to their government offices downtown.

On a recent weekday morning, employees queued outside a co-working office at Place d'Orléans, each hoping to secure one of about 30 workspaces available on a first-come, first-served basis. The office opens at 7 a.m.

Some sat on folding chairs as they waited for the door to open, while others listened to music or knitted.

The Orléans location is one of six "GCcoworking" offices in Ottawa and Gatineau with a combined capacity of 684. Most of the workspaces are reserved in advance, but a portion are available for daily walk-ins.

Trust government to make this so efficient.   :badpc:

Those offices will be filling up again with Trumps requirement of 5 days in the office. Those that don't show up will get Musked.

President Donald Trump's administration is set to offer every single federal worker the chance to take a "deferred resignation" with a severance package of roughly eight months of pay and benefits.

A senior administration official told NBC News that they expect 5%-10% of the federal workforce to quit, which, they estimate, could lead to around $100 billion in savings.

https://www.nbcnews....sign-rcna189661

"American taxpayers pay for the salaries of federal government employees, and therefore deserve employees working on their behalf who actually show up to work in our wonderful federal buildings, also paid for by taxpayers," White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said in a statement. "If they don’t want to work in the office and contribute to making America great again, then they are free to choose a different line of work, and the Trump Administration will provide a very generous payout of 8 months."

It’s a generous offer. Resulting in a ton of savings to government. Win win.

Wouldn’t it be more cost effective just to sell the buildings ?

To whom? Office buildings are a struggling asset class at the moment. There is no easy path to strong revenues with so many workers WFH.

Know it all.
Citified.ca is Victoria's most comprehensive research resource for new-build homes and commercial spaces.

Many workers are now complaining they must now get child care, even though their WFH agreement specifies they are NOT to care for children while working.

Also, the most active Federal government workers subreddit is most active during M-F workdays, mostly federal workers complaining about their jobs, even though they are no to log into social media during their workday.

Come on, you must admit WFH (especially government) has serous abusers, I know many government workers that abuse it terribly.
