From another poll, Vancouver Island offsets some of the interior for NDP support.

"On Vancouver Island the NDP are leading with 43 per cent followed by the Greens (24 per cent) and Conservatives (23 per cent) effectively tied for second,” he explained.

"Outside of Metro Vancouver and Vancouver Island, it's the Conservatives who are leading by 15 points over the NDP (48-33)."

Why are the people on Vancouver Island so supportive of the NDP? I can't think of one thing they have done to make life better for Islanders.

Maybe due to a much higher percentage of union employment? The NDP does cater more to unions than any other party.
