Hey, I never have a problem with architecture that's conventional and straightforward, as long as it doesn't look cheap and as long as it's not a duplication of something that already exists. I've said it before on this board about Concert's buildings. They aren't exciting but they work just fine.

It's like a decent new house or a decent new car. They don't have to be exceptional to be good. They just have to be good.

That said, it would be nice to get at least one exceptional/interesting building on the Dockside Green property before all is said and done. But methinks it would also be nice to get Dockside Green finished, exceptional architecture or no.

Certainly, a bit more variety to the heights of the towers would have been nice.

While the towers’ cladding is a bit dark for my tastes (and the orange sections on Tyee looks like 70s countertops), I actually enjoy the tapered aesthetic of the heights of the buildings along there; I believe it was very intentionally done to go from the promontory and step all the way down to the low rise office buildings at Bay St. It looks especially striking when viewed from near the Parliament building.

And the final tower towards the bridge needs to up its game esthetically due to the prominent location. It would be a shame to see this development end as ho-hum as The Railyards.

I wish the towers had a bit more height.
All towers in Vic could be 5 stories higher and the city wouldn't feel very different.

Or they really enjoy breakfast in bed.
I do have to question the proximity of the bar stools to the bed however. Audience seating perhaps?

Speaking of which, that would be a great spot for a Murphy bed.

All of you fail reading comprehension. It says 'studio'. That IS the bedroom.
