Chapelle has never been one to shy away from risks, so why not time travel? Personally, I'd choose further back in the past than last April, but perhaps his temporal manipulation technology is still in its infancy.

Jesse Roper December 30th at the
RoyalMcPherson was extremely close to sold out.
Now I presume it'll be cancelled.
I did not know Herb Alpert was coming.

That's great, I love that Rockit song! Five MTV video awards in 1984.

Strange article. Not exactly breaking news.
Ticket demand crashes phone lines at Sidney’s Mary Winspear Centre
Country star Johnny Reid is set to play Sidney on May 7-8, 2022
https://www.vicnews....inspear-centre/
Greater Victoria may have come down with a case of Johnny Reid mania.
Demand for tickets to the country singer’s two upcoming shows in Sidney at the Mary Winspear Centre on May 7-8, 2022 apparently caused a box office crash.
Coun. Scott Garnett, council’s liaison with the Memorial Park Society which oversees the centre and Blue Heron Park in trust for the communities of the Saanich Peninsula, said the incident happened on Nov. 26, when tickets for Reid’s national tour went on sale.
“They had $29,000 in box office sales that day. There were 65 phone calls and 62 emails that were unanswered by the end of work hours. But the staff, as dedicated as they are and a reflection of our community, stayed and answered every single one of them. That’s absolutely amazing,” he said.
Why are people phoning and e-mailing the theatre? Don't people buy tickets online? And the tickets are $102 each. Is it a big deal they sold $29,000 in one day?

I have tickets to Corb Lund at the Wise Hall in Vancouver. He's sold out three shows, Jan 19, 20 and 21. I am expecting them to be cancelled and I expect the current PHO, which expires on the 18th, to be extended. Total bummer, as he had to cancel his show at the Alix Goolden last year too.

Honestly, I think it is time to open things up (maybe restrict it to the vaccinated) and let seniors decide what level of risk they want to accept.

The thing is ... things are open!
And you can't get in to (for example) the Royal Theatre to see any of it without presenting your vax passport.
And for clarity, using the Glorious Sons as an example ... the band canceled the show because they feel that they can't afford to perform to only half a house, not because anything prevented them from playing for their fans.
In short (and even though it's American slang) "it's all about the Benjamins" and a band making as many of them as possible per show.
Sure, the half a venue occupancy of the health order plays into it ... but the band could have chosen to perform for those fans who had tickets - rather than take the route of maximizing the $$$ return on each and every performance.
The point, of course, is that the health order itself had nothing to do with a canceled show ... that was 100% the decision as made by (in this case) the Glorious Sons.

Theatre lights will go dim and beer taps will go dry with the postponement of a presentation of the opera Carmen and Victoria Beer Week in the face of high COVID-19 cases.
Pacific Opera Victoria on Thursday announced the postponement of its upcoming live performances of Carmen — which had already been postponed from the 2019-2020 season — after provincial health authorities urged vigilance and caution for the next few weeks.
“The February performances of Carmen were sold out with subscriptions and pre-sales, and a waiting list taken should capacity limits be eased,” said Ian Rye, CEO of Pacific Opera.
The opera, which was set to run Feb. 23 to March 1, had a cast of more than 100 artists, many of whom would have had to travel to Victoria to rehearse and perform.

That's all we've been doing for 2 years, yet here we are, still in semi-lockdown.

So basically, it's 2020 & 2021 all over again as far as live entertainment goes, except now almost everyone is vaccinated.
