We have a lot of lakes. Still safer than the drive to the airportI wonder how the plane can do an emergency landing mid-flight for that route. I rather stick close to the coastal waters, but that's just me.

I assumed this was a joke. In case of emergency, they’d just land at an airport or airstrip. They have wheels too.
I don't think our float planes have the wheels installed.

An octopus should be able to go check each HA floatplane and see if they have wheels!

If they were amphibious (have wheels and floats) they would just land on the runway at YVR. The ones that don't have wheels either land on the grass beside the runway and then get put on a trailer affair and towed. They can also lift them out of the water with a crane and put them on a trailer.

In the market for a Canadian Air Force jet? Never used in combat, flown only for training purposes.
Kevin Smith, owner of the Highway Antique Barn on the Trans-Canada Highway near Chemainus, has a deal for you.
“Everything is for sale,” Smith said from his shop on Monday.
The Canadair CT-133 Silver Star has been mounted outside the popular shop and an observation deck expanded so that curious onlookers can get a closer view of the aircraft.
Smith, who recently acquired the store — a 5,500-square-foot antique mall with about 60 vendors — said he bought the jet as a way to draw in shoppers.

His next move is to weld up a stand so the aircraft looks like it’s in a banking turn.
Well worth a visit to the Antique Barn. We visit there regularly.

Ideally we wouldn't be hinting at our superhero alternate identities in a public forum like this.

WestJet continues its focus on the west as it ditches the east.
A new route via WestJet Link but I can't find anything new for YYJ this winter from WJ mainline.

Canadians eager to enjoy the autumn colours this year are likely to find plenty of budget-friendly options to jet to places like New York or Alberta’s Lake Louise.
And the opportunities to fly cheap go well beyond the top foliage destinations.
Flight ticket prices often drop by 10 per cent or more in the fall compared to summer’s peaks, Christie Hudson, head of U.S. public relations for Expedia, said via e-mail. But this autumn “the savings are expected to be even richer,” she added.
Growing competition on domestic and Canada-U.S. routes and a likely steeper-than-usual seasonal drop in demand for leisure travel mean airlines are slashing prices to fill planes, according to John Gradek, co-ordinator of McGill University’s aviation management program.
