I have to say that 142 unit proposal is pretty ugly. It looks like one of those 1960s/70s budget hotels that pretended to be far grander than they actually were.

Was there another long wing running way off in the background that we can't see in that illustration? How could they fit 142 units in that place?

I'd say those townhouse units look pretty decent.

That's the only part of this project that works, esthetically speaking.

I think the back façade is nicer than the front.

I tyhink the city is really missing a great oppertunity with parking. They should prohibit all street parking between 2 PM amd 6 PM unless you have a monthly permit. Then they should charge a hundred a month or more for the permit/
Why should the use of public road space be used as a private garage for some people.

I happened to be out Esquimalt way and I was surprised by how big the excavations/clearings are at Esquimalt Road & Lampson and beside the A&W. Do we have threads for those projects?
Edit: I guess the one by A&W is called "Esquimalt Terrace"?
Edit to edit: No offense to Esquimalteds, but I had no effing idea there was a street called Effingham.

He’s in Edmonton now, has a shop calling Effing Seafood.
Locally sourced?

A friend of mine owned Effingham oysters in Effingham inlet. He’s in Edmonton now, has a shop calling Effing Seafood.
That's effing unbelievable. Nobody moves from Effingham Inlet to Edmonton. Edmonton to Effingham Inlet, sure. But not the other way.
Seriously though, I was cautiously optimistic that I might have been the first person ever to make that effing joke. But now it looks like I was probably the second person ever. That's still pretty good. I'm sure the longtime residents of Effingham Street will appreciate the freshness of this humour.
