Although I don't particularly agree with this writer's point of view I was willing to hear her out...until I saw from where she was writing

...Victoria is known worldwide as the city of gardens. Let’s preserve that image and not become the "city of concrete.”

Dear Ms. Brighton. Here's my offer to you. I won't tell you how and what you can build in Nanoose Bay and you can keep your opinions to yourself about Victoria. Deal?

That's so weird, hey?

I have this suspicious feeling that Ms. Brighton has not visited Victoria in a few years.

A Development Permit with Variance application has been received for Regent Towers (415 Michigan Street). I imagine this is for an exterior renovation or addition? Dev tracker: https://tender.victo...Number=DPV00055

Note, this building had interior renovations late last year, which were temporarily halted by WorkSafeBC due to asbestos.

More details are up now. 24 rental units (12 studios/12 townhouses) in a new build between the two existing buildings.

I bet complaints are received about the loss of the "green space", although I doubt anyone ever uses it, especially considering Irving Park is right next door.

It would be nice to see development over top of the surface parking at the far side of the Regent Towers property.

is that the proposal to change the allowed uses on the first floor space to attract a bigger range of tenants?

I would assume so. The RZ is for 821/823/825 Broughton, and the DP is for 823/827 Broughton

Do you mean the Ironworks at Chatham and Store? Most recent renderings are posted in the thread, here: https://vibrantvicto...posed/?p=409447

No, the lot behind the Fountain Tire.  It's a transmission place and next to it used to be an art store.

Got any further info, nagel? Only 515/533 Chatham has been publicly unveiled thus far, and that's the Ironworks development.

I'm not aware of any redevelopment proposals involving this property, but a couple doors down at 629/635 Chatham, Robbins has applied for a Temporary Use Permit to allow a 40-stall parking lot. The owner is likely waiting for an assembly.

I misread the map.  The item was highlighting the Ironworks not this strip that should see an eventual redevelopment.

Do we have a thread for a proposed development at 1811 Oak Bay Avenue at Bank Street?

The City is considering a Development Permit with Variance application for a 5-storey, 15-unit rental apartment building with an underground parking garage...
