Persian Kebab & Groceries at the corner of Quadra and View has closed. They may be moving to a new location based on a facebook review posted on their page yesterday.

La Fogata Latina on the 700-block of View St also appears to have closed. Windows are papered up and their website expired on May 21.

La Fogatas Instagram page says they’re in renovation. La Fogata Latina 2.0
They installed two tiny booths. This must be the smallest sit-down restaurant in town.

Yeah, at least two or three of us independently emailed their customer service line and the message received was the same--there was never a Red Lobster in BC. Part of me wants to comment "I told you so" but I doubt anyone will hear it because any sane person would have turned off their notifications long ago that thread was so tedious.
Chorizo & Co. on Fort Street has been closed for a while but recently papered over their windows so something is up.
The Nook coffee shop at Hillside and Quadra is finally receiving renovations after a car plowed through it recently. I doubt it will reopen soon, looks like the ground floor was knocked off the foundation a couple inches.

Chorizo & Co. will be reopening under new ownership sometime in August. As I understand it, the award-winning operator had a bit of an odd an acrimonious split with his (silent) partner. Unable to come up with a deal to continue operating the restaurant with his involvement, he reluctantly sold it to new operators. The new owners are likely to continue operating it along the same lines as it was previously. Stay tuned!
