Very similar to Brasserie hours (but more)...  They are 5:30- 9pm Wed thru Sunday.  Has been for years.  This is not new or odd.

I did not say it was.  I said - if you read my previous post - it is odd for non-high-end restaurants to not be open 7 days.

Most restaurants are open 7 days.

And the ones that do close a day or two are usually higher-end.

I read it I just think we have a different definition of 'high end'.

Vic Buzz made a list of restaurants that closed and opened in 2023. Did they miss any?

Boardwalk Burgers in the Bay Centre verdict - Great truck-stop style burger, which is to say not like Mcdonalds, and kind of like Big Wheel Burgers (but conveniently located right downtown).

L'ecole.

Deep Cove Chalet.

etc.

We have a few higher-end restaurants in hotels, they all open 7 days I think.

Yeah restaurants in hotels have to be open.  I just never even thought Victoria had high end until this new joint across from City Hall..  I have no problem lingering in Brass with a tee shirt, shorts and sandals, I mean it's country French.  To me it's nice but not high end.  To each his/her/their own.

I can't remember if this was mentioned in the earlier new burger outlet discussion. Coming soon to the Fisgard Street side of Hudson House.

They closed because they were mandated to not because people were not available to work due to sickness. It is why they were staffed when allowed to reopen, just with masks and vaccine mandates. How is that not true?

Both are true.

Multiple truths can exist at once I will give you that. But by my observation I did not witness biz closing due to staff illness. I think language is important. The measures closed business not the pandemic.

"States that stayed open did not have a higher number of deaths per capita
When it comes to death rates from the coronavirus states that stayed open are among the best performing states. According to Covid-19 data, Wyoming, Utah, South Dakota, and North Dakota are among the top ten states with the lowest COVID-19 deaths per 100,000 people. These numbers are a representation of a number of other factors and policies but they go to show that lockdowns did not greatly impact COVID-19 outcomes. In fact, states with the highest COVID-19 deaths per 100,000 people were among the ones with the most restrictive shutdown rules."

lol! You just need to trust the experts a little more.. :)

For real though, restaurants have certainly closed here and there when short staffed due to illness, then and now. You don't have to believe me for it to be true. We did ok, as we have quite a flexible business model and lots of staff to shuffle around, but we weren't immune either.  Pun intended!

Red Fish Blue Fish is a seafood restaurant that’s been located on Broughton Pier since around 2006, according to information in a City of Victoria report presented to the committee of the whole on Sept. 7.

The restaurant is so popular that it’s looking to expand its footprint by adding two more structures to help improve its business, which the report says “enjoys significant popularity with local citizens and visitors alike.
