a store called Trees is opening on lower Yates in the empty NOOD and Pet food store.
Trees seems to be the same name as the Medical Marijuana store in Nanaimo that just got shutdown

Trees is owned by an older woman who was on the news the other day regarding Nanaimo there has been one on Rock Bay Ave for quite sometime now.
If they need to sell the stuff it should be sold in liquor stores instead of having these shops open all over the place.

Its painful listening to the bleeding hearts on the news claiming that they need it for the "illnesses" and if the shops closed they will not be able to get their"medicine"
I say that's a load of Bull Crap and those whiners can just go back to buying it from their local dealers like they did before,
Ya whats wrong with Victoria?

Why?
So the revenue can go into the government coffers?
Clearly, given the number of these shops that have opened and are still in business, there's a demand for this. More than for Burger King, or even Subway, I'd say.

And it increases demand for BK and Subway so it's win win.

Yes exactly so the revenue can go into government coffers to pay fair wages to liquor store employees who have homes and families and to help pay for tbe lifestyle we have in this country
Ugh. I don't think my tax dollars should go to pay "fair wages" for anyone, where that wage is higher than the going market rate.
Posted 03 December 2015 - 12:33 PM
So are you saying that minimum wage is the going market wage becasue Pot shops arent paying close to it.
Oh and the going market rate (wages) for private liquor stores is not much more than minimum wage that is how those stores claim to sell at Government Liquor store prices...the owners are keeping a tidy profit whilst paying their employees crap wages not even close to what Government workers are getting

Market rates = the race to the bottom.
