I’m not sure if it’s been mentioned or not, but Michal Megrin has opened a store on Fort Street in the Bay Centrs’s former Teavnna location.

Michal Negrin is an Israeli woman who started out selling vintage-style jewelry at a crafts market. It grew into a global clothing and gift chain of 22 stores before permanently shutting down this week.

Some of the remaining display items will be auctioned off at Lund's this evening, including a huge chandelier. If you're a big fan of her stuff you should check it out.

Interestingly enough my name is Michal, as far as my spelling of Michael goes. You could imagine my bewilderment when a clothing retailer opened with that name.

I can’t recall if this has been mentioned but Colwell Banker Oceanside has opened a real-estate office opposite Mayfair on Douglas at Alpha.

Victoria has a growing adventure goods district, it seems.....

Arc'teryx will be opening at 1305 Government Street, the former Pacific Trekking space.

No word on opening date, but they've now been issued a BP for exterior works. New windows, new doors, and removal of what I assume is a misspelling of parapet (the permit says parafit).

Removing misspellings is never a bad thing. I just hope they don't remove the parfait place. Their parfaits are perfect. And they allow pets.

I thought perhaps part of the existing building was made of wax and that the BP was for the removal of paraffin.

I'm just waiting for somebody to parrot the party line and start waxing nostalgic about the old exterior.

The Volvo Dealership, acquired by GAIN, might be moving to the former Audi site at Cook and Yates. There is a sign on the old Audi dealership stating “Volvo Is Coming Home.”

Perhaps Pattinson didn’t include the real estate in its sale of the Volvo dealership to GAIN? Maybe Pattinson will open a different dealership at Douglas /Hillside...

The Volvo dealership at Hillside and Douglas would make a great new restaurant or bar.

Signs say that Volvo is coming to Cook and Yates in Spring 2020.

The current Volvo dealership has signs advertising the property for sublease...

That Volvo dealership was Pattison's worst performing shop.

well Volvo sales in general are not the strongest of brands. but they have their niche.

for example Volvo sells 100k cars in the USA per year. Toyota sells 2.4m.

A rare opportunity to acquire a standalone commercial property on the corner of Cook and Pembroke Streets in the City of Victoria. Fort Street staple Russell Books is nearly done moving into their new location just across the street.

To celebrate this transition, on November 14th, the owners are trying to build the tallest stack of Guinness World Record books in an effort to set a new world record.

This event, which co-owner Andrea Minter says is also a sort of soft-opening of their new location, will be attended by an official Guinness World Records adjudicator.
