A wireless connection that dates back to childhood finds two friends operating a business in Sooke that’s starting to flourish.
“I’ve been friends with Alexander since elementary school,” said Kevin Hopcraft, who opened Gadget Tree Tech Services in November with co-owner Alexander Kingston.
Kingston worked in the wireless industry for 10 years and fixed phones and computers on the side with Hopcraft, with an eye toward opening their own business eventually.
“We had been thinking about it for a long time,” said Hopcraft, who worked at Western Foods for 11 years.
“We originally started selling screen protectors really small-time on the weekends,” he explained. “We quickly realized the demand for other products and accessories was there, so we worked with some suppliers to bring in some items.”
That quickly led to both of them having a vast inventory taking up space in their homes.

it looks like the walmart on hillside is delayed yet again to the 16th now but i don't know if that's even reliable since the website just keeps saying coming soon. i wonder if the construction is even done or if it really is not enough workers..
almost there...walked by today

There is a new Garcha Bros meat and grocery store going in at the old Restore location on Burnside road.
It looks like this is the 17th store of a chain that was founded in Surrey. According to their web page you will be able to buy "leg of goat" and other exotic delicacies.

does anyone know anything about how to go about transferring pharmacies? the save on foods at university heights is closing and they have all my information but i'm going to pick a different pharmacy closer to me.
for example rexall has an online form to transfer prescriptions from another pharmacy location. could i just complete this form and rexall can get my information from them or would this be better done in person?

Was wondering what was going in there. They have been working on it a while.
Looks like a similar concept to FraserView Meats not far away on Burnside.

Frances grey is closing. Small clothing store on lower yates
The trend for many younger women right now seems to be vintage so the thrift shops are doing very well while the Lojo and Loya stores may be in for some hard times.

Stevensons shoe repair on fort is closing at the end of the month
It's somehow in the back of my mind that this closure was known about for some time.
Stevenson's Shoe Clinic is home to Victoria's finest full-service shoe repair shop. Established in 1925, the business has been family owned and operated through 4 generations.

Now the Covid money tap has been turned off I suspect that a lot of businesses have a decision to make.
