Took a pair of Mephistos there once, awful service and work.

The one next to Jones bbq, Arcadia, is way better.

Oh no! Where did you hear this, Belle?

They’re telling people, it was hush hush for a few months but the date is set for the 25th of this month, last I heard

It's somehow in the back of my mind that this closure was known about for some time.

They mentioned something months ago. Fewer people repairing shoes and all of that.

Stevenson's Shoe Clinic is home to Victoria's finest full-service shoe repair shop. Established in 1925, the business has been family owned and operated through 4 generations.

Maybe you are thinking of Olde Towne Shoe Repair that closed not that long ago.

Nothing to do with the consistently bad reviews they seem to get?

It’s a dying trade unfortunately. We live in a world of disposable things. Luckily, there’s still some great shoe repair places out there for those who buy quality. They’re not the best in town but they were fine. It was never a warm and flowery place, that rubs people the wrong way, I think the owner was ready to retire.

The shoes I brought in, the new soles peeled off in days. The owner (?) accused me of putting them on a heater or in the dryer. Not something I typically do with $500 shoes.

You know how they have those sword-making reality shows?

I think a shoe repair similar show would be cool.

You give one guy the right shoe, the other contestant the left shoe.

They’ve got one hour to do their best.

Cook Street Vintage, a furniture store specializing in mid-century modern furniture,  has opened just south of George Jay Elementary School in a retail space that formerly specialized in mobility aids:

Any idea whats going on with the Powerhouse at the end of Store Street.  Seems like the Pinball and event venue are done for the time being.  Pictures attached from a group and the pinball website.

Let’s see if our Facebook followers have more info.

So far everyone’s perplexed that they had ever heard of the place.

I think the members only thing threw potential customers for a loop, plus very limited hours.

Quazars has pinball anyways, and is awesome.

According to the person I spoke to at the Powerhouse pinball, it and Quazars are the same people.
