Doesn't this look like a cheery place to while away one's time?

How long before the ping-pong table is damaged or destroyed?

I didn't recognize it until I saw the ping-pong table mentioned, lol. Do you have to supply your own equipment?

...Do you have to supply your own equipment?

Apparently the equipment will be courtesy of the CoV taxpayer.

...Table tennis paddles and balls are being given to nearby schools, businesses, hotels and residences...

I go around defending bike lane spending, and then there's stuff like this.... I mean, it's cute, and probably is gonna cost maybe a few hundred bucks, but still...

^ Interesting that the official map includes portions that have not been built yet, such as a bridge across Rock Bay from Bridge Street

Oh yes, their map is crap

I'm going to bike through the Ocean Cement plant and when they chase after me I'll yell FU it's on the map.

Seems like this would have been a good location to try out another one of those pop-up parks like what has been so successful on the 700-block of Fort, rather than this...thing...

Cyclist hit by car on esqualmalt and lampson (Joffre St really). Looks like he/ she was headed into town and a car cut through the standing traffic and took them out as they rode in the bike lane! 2 fire truck, 2 ambulance and 4 cop cars. Did not look good😬.

No idea Mike, when I cycled past the opposite direction at 4:30ish everyone was just arriving. Saw a bike on the ground and a fireman lying on the floor holding the casualties neck straight.

Then 5 minutes further down the street two mountain bikers who passed the accident next to me cycled straight though two red lights, without a care in the world!

Oh gosh. I’m very familiar with that intersection and Joffrey is a sketchy crossing for cyclists. Vehicles will veer down all the time, usually at fast speed.

Just means Bart's pub doesn't need to put in their own games area...the city did it for them. :)

I'm waiting for a "camper" to set up shop underneath the table.

$7,000.

I was just referring to the paddles and balls. I saw the cost of the table, that’s quite the thing!

As an aside: I much prefer the VV forums to the Facebook page. At least here there’s a general spirit of friendliness when discussing stuff even if we disagree. Those Facebook comments are brutal, by comparison. Are people in Victoria actually that angry?! It must be hard maintaining those levels of rage all the time...

This is in reference to basically any post involving bike lanes, talk about angry mobs!

When it comes to the seemingly endless jackass ideas of the CoV officialdom, yes many residents are that angry.

Yes, some people are worked up about bike lanes. Clearly not that many, based on past election results.
