Victoria Police say one suspect was arrested at Russell Street’s newly opened shelter following a structure fire that engulfed a commercial property on the western side of the shelter’s block yesterday evening. There were no injuries and Victoria Fire crews were able to keep the blaze from spreading. The fire is believed to have started in a bin adjacent to the building.
Make him dismantle the building piece by piece.

If i were a betting woman...I spoke with the RCMP today regarding another fire at a shelter. The man who set that fire is in jail awaiting his court date. I would like to think the same fate awaits the Victoria man.

We're told we need to have compassion for these folks, but they need to display behavior that warrants it first. Trouble is, we've taught them that if they keep biding the hand that feeds them, we'll just keep feeding them anyway.

Make him dismantle the building piece by piece.
And then force him onto the 6:00 news to make a public apology.

Paramedic Crisis: Ambulances in B.C. are sitting empty due to a serious paramedic shortage
May 17, 2021
We take it for granted that an ambulance will come rushing to help in a life-or-death emergency, but paramedics are sounding the alarm about a system they say is broken.
“The way this is being run, it’s dangerous for the public, it’s dangerous for those of us who are working,” a paramedic and ambulance dispatcher told CHEK News. “On any given day, we have calls holding for hours, hours, and we just can’t get there.”
Every day in B.C., ambulances are sitting empty due to a serious shortage of paramedics, especially on the Lower Mainland.

When you call 911, medical emergencies are transferred to a B.C. Ambulance dispatch centre — but you might have to wait a while for someone to answer your call, and even longer for a paramedic to arrive.
“We had 14 calls in queue in the middle of the afternoon that had been holding for over four minutes,” a dispatcher told CHEK News on the condition that we protect her identity. “That four minutes, imagine if somebody isn’t breathing.”
