De Blasio Says Yankees Execs ‘on Wrong Side of History' for Trump First Pitch

The August 15th game against the Boston Red Sox would mark the first time Trump has taken part in the tradition that every president since William Howard Taft in 1910 has done

hard to know if there is a worse person than de blasio in all of new york.

Impressive looking infield.

Good start.

Yeah, this young team seems like it has decent bones. My only worry is about consistency but it was a good start. The second game was not so hot but so far they're doing well today

Marlins-Orioles and Yankees-Phillies games both cancelled due to Covid outbreaks among players and staff.

well i guess the cancellations are only due to the miami outbreak.

still not good.

the mls soccer tournament seems to be going fine though.

nhl plan has the players super isolated.

one nba player could not help himself and went to a strip bar.  for food.  and he also says he reads playboy only for the articles.

MLB had the advantage of being out of season when this all went down, and still couldn’t muster together a competent restart plan. Why not do hub cities like the other leagues? MLB is taking an extremely relaxed approach, and it may just cost them their season.

yes this is very good insight shoe.

what do we know about the baseball player's home-city activities?  is a dodger player isolated in los angeles too or just on road?

the interesting thing is that of all sports baseball is somewhat non-contact.  compare that with football linemen all face to face.  even practices for baseball are hardly close-quarters affairs.

does each participant usually touch the same balls with bare hands?  i guess you could just use more fresh balls than usual.

are we in the brothel thread still?

^She recommends using a Sharpie to identify them but fresh balls are very fuzzy and hard to draw on, yet my balls are old and easy to identify.

Hmm, well, glad I've caught the few games so far... might be the last ones for a while. I don't know how they intend to handle the situation if multiple teams start dropping like flies.

Per https://twitter.com/...321819743817728:

Some baseball history:

For the first time in 105 years, Major League Baseball is being played tonight at 3 different ballparks in the State of New York.

The last time this happened was on September 8, 1915 (Yankees, Dodgers & Buffalo Blues).

Good luck to the home teams!

The Blue Jays are using hastily-updated Sahlen Field in Buffalo (home of their AAA team) as their home base for the season.

An interesting look at the search for a field to call home: https://www.sportsne...e-jays-buffalo/

And the Blue Jays were swept out by the Rays in the wild card round. Didn't even make it to October. At least the kids got a taste for the playoffs and better years ahead.

The bats didnt come alive against the Rays.  Except for the pitching in early game one, was not even playoff calibre.

Strong core of young players could prove better years not far off, but some quality pitchers must be brought in.
