A picnic at
CloverPicnic Point today. We should all thank Mayor and Council for this amazing gift to the people
That is a good one and should be emailed to every person who voted for it!

Car access was maintained largely because of the concern for disabled people.
In a total lack of understanding for how the space is used and enjoyed, the design called for everyone else to be expected to just park elsewhere and walk down, in the middle of a wind and rain storm.
Disabled access is a good thing, but I feel like they're being used as a bit of a pawn. Then they're given all of 4 spaces, facing the wrong way away from most of the action and sunsets. I get the sense those with accessibility issues, many of which are completely invisible and don't warrant the use of a disabled parking permit, are just seen as a pesky nuisance getting in the way of the Mayor's agenda.

I feel like other jurisdictions around the region need to start building amenities like this so we at least have something when these clowns are done destroying everything.

That's what is happening. One used to drive in from Saanich to visit BHP or Picnic Pointless and also stop at a restaurant for lunch. Now, it is more likely you'll go to Sidney, Brentwood Bay or Esquimalt Lagoon and spend cash in those locations instead.
Issit, Together Victoria, Covid.......not a good time for downtown businesses.

I, for one, do not go downtown at all anymore! I was out yesterday checking out other sites by the water and will find a new place to go. I was so looking forward to CP opening up again but I will find another good spot. Cattle Point is good, Saxe Point is good (but not a lot of parking), the lagoon is good. Many other good spots.

At least there is a vaccine for one of these tragedies.

What really bothers me about this is the cost. Is this really the best use of $275,000 at this time?

If you don't mind the drive, Albert Head lagoon, Taylor beach, Weirs beach and Pedder Bay are all spots you can park reasonable close to the sea.

Colwood just about closed the Lagoon down for traffic until there was backlash. Why doesn't public pressure even work on Victoria council? Is their vote so locked in there's zero chance they'll lose or what?

A majority of the CoV council only acknowledges those members of the public that agree with their agenda. As far as re-election goes, the apathetic voting record of many residents has worked in council's favour so far, so presumably they feel it will continue to do so going forward.

I have spoken to people who voted for Isitt clearly on name recognition alone. I've been trying to reprogram them, lol.
Often now we will drive to McNeill Bay, park by the water and watch the ocean. I also don't have to look at those darn split-rail fences. Of course that is a longer drive, so more emissions

People who are this lazy about politics should not be allowed to vote.

The answer is obvious. Most of Victoria council don’t give a rats a$$ what the majority of the public wants or thinks . That is if they can get away with it without drowning in too much negative publicity .

i thought for a second there that the second paragraph was your re-programming regimen.
