Beat me to it! Those are some great shots by the way.
It's so cool to see this section of Shelbourne change so quickly after living in this area for almost forever - never thought I'd see such major projects like this happen so close to home, but here we are.

Main core foundation (and first tower crane section) in place for the first building off McKenzie. First crane should probably up and operational within a month or so.

Nice - the old 'hood from 1965-72; our house would be just out of frame on Cedar Hill Rd heading south, on the upper left of the image.
The old stone "Sutherland" house as we referred to it sits just to the right on the rise overlooking the newly built McKenzie Ave. The apartment with the three wings just 'below' the house - in fact it sits to the east - was easily and by far the biggest in that entire area, and by a large margin.
At that time a year or two before the mall was constructed and McKenzie actually built (which I was believe was about 1968-9), what is now Cedar Hill Rd, starting a couple of blocks north of where it intersects McKenzie, was gravel road all the way out to Mt Douglas.
And of course the iconic greenhouses owned by the Lum family are seen across from the mall.

The building on the McKenzie/Cedar Hill side is making a lot of progress...
Meanwhile, construction on the building along Shelbourne is also underway:

How is this so much farther along than the Telus building DT? i used to walk by the telus site daily until March and shocked to just see the crane just going up now....

How is this so much farther along than the Telus building DT?....
Much less excavation, relatively little underground parking and wood frame buildings means the UH project will go up much faster than the Telus development.

Speaking of fast construction, this is the scene just a little under two weeks since my last post:
I also managed to catch them putting up a third crane. This one is the new tallest out of the three:
I don't think I've seen this many cranes all at once in a while here since Uptown
