The latest article is up and it is a little self-serving. This time I provide an overview of the photography show I have up at Koffi at Haultain Corners. Have a look or even better come down to have a look at it!

I know I am a sucker for punishment, posting this on here, but here is my call to keep the expanded pedestrian space in North Park Village while also coming up with a simple solution to create lots of parking (more than was lost).

Might be a while before I spend any time in a cafe again.

The Library must have moved from the Carnegie Building to its "temporary" location earlier than 1990, since I used to visit the Central Branch in its current location semi-regularly while I was attending UVic (1985-1989). I was never a patron of the Carnegie location.

It's a bit of a shame that the "Dynamic Mobile Steel Sculpture", which I agree is one of the more beautiful pieces of public art in the city, is tucked away in a location where many people will never see it. Perhaps it could be moved to the large eastern plaza where it would have greater visibility. Something is needed there to enliven one of the CoV's infamous public spaces that most of the public never uses.

Hmmm... I was going by what I found online. I will have to look some more about the date. The new portion wasnt built too much before 1980 so can't imagine they would have built and moved so quickly.

Dignitaries, from left Victoria Mayor William Tindall, Provincial Secretary Evan Wolfe, Esquimalt Mayor Ken Hill, Oak Bay Mayor Doug Watts and Acting Saanich Mayor John Mika, wield gigantic scissors to cut ribbon during official opening ceremonies Friday at new Central Library at 735 Broughton.

New library in Waddington Building has twice space of old Carnegie Building and latest in modern, comfortable furnishings.

Thank you Aastra! And thank you to Nparker as well. I went back and found my researching mistake to be to have relied on a Times Colonist article from last year rather than actually going into the archives. I will go in and amend this!
