Isn’t a highlander not a truck?: https://www.vicnews....olen-overnight/
Yes, a Highlander is not a truck. It's a minivan without sliding doors.

...a Highlander is not a truck. It's a minivan without sliding doors.
And Highlander is a 1986 British-American fantasy action-adventure film directed by Russell Mulcahy and based on a story by Gregory Widen. It stars Christopher Lambert, Sean Connery, Clancy Brown, and Roxanne Hart. The film chronicles the climax of an ages-old battle among immortal warriors, depicted through interwoven past and present-day storylines...

No, there can be only one.
And that would be Lambert. The vehicles are clearly impostors.

Christopher is actually a truck? I'll allow it.

West Shore 🚔
A wanted man, known to police, has been taken into custody after a brief foot chase in Langford.
At around 2:00 pm, on February 7, 2019, an off duty police officer with the West Shore RCMP was inside the West Shore Town Centre when he observed a 39 year old man of no fixed address, who was wanted on two outstanding warrants out of West Shore and Saanich for property crime related offences. The man had been evading police for some time to avoid his arrest.
The officer attempted to phone a fellow on duty officer to have him attend the mall and make the arrest. However, the suspect became suspicious and started walking away and from the officer. The off duty officer knew that police would likely miss the opportunity to make the arrest and therefore walked up to the suspect, identified himself as a police officer and told him he was under arrest. The suspect immediately started running away towards the exit of the mall. After conducting a quick risk assessment, the officer decided to give chase as it was in the public’s interest and safety to have this suspect arrested immediately.
The off duty officer, who has a background in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, was able to apprehend and subdue the suspect after a brief struggle until police arrived. Nobody was injured during the incident.
While it is uncommon for an off duty officer to proceed with an arrest, it is a reminder that police officers are alert and always working even when off shift. In his risk assessment, the off duty officer judged that public safety was paramount and used his background skills to subdue the suspect effectively states Cst. Nancy Saggar of the West Shore RCMP.

the entire release has far too much information. in fact the event is hardly worthy of a release.

I'm sure they wouldn't have released it if it wasn't good PR.

I'm just surprised it didn't say the event occurred in the 2900 block of Jacklin Rd... it's nice that they actually provided a bit of location identification.

You ever see the Vic PD do this? Hell, they don't even do on duty arrests.

Something big is happening at the Tally-Ho housing project. There’s a big police presence there and police responding to whatever it is have switched to a separate radio channel.
maybe the pool is reopening.
