^ To be accurate, no graves have been found in Kamloops. What were found were "radar anomalies" which might be graves.

Community claims roughly 4-5 children from each family went missing from the Blue Quills residential school located in Saddle Lake.

 

Saddle Lake Cree Nation claims to have uncovered other unmarked graves and a possible mass grave since as early as 2004.

 

Saddle Lake Cree Nation are looking for funding for ground penetrating radar.

What I don't get is how a band's "truth tellers" can recall details of events that occurred centuries ago with extraordinary accuracy, yet nobody seems to be able to recall the names or numbers of children that they claim went missing and died 50 years ago.

The Saddle Lake Cree Nation, northeast of Edmonton, is investigating human remains believed to be of children found near the former Blue Quills Residential School site.

 

Eric Large, a residential school survivor, said in August 2017 he was doing work excavating new grave sites at the Saddle Lake community cemetery when he unexpectedly uncovered human remains.

 

"I came across some small bones. I couldn't tell what they were, from what parts of the body," Large told reporters on Tuesday.

 

"For myself, I was shocked. I didn't know what to do, except suggest putting them back into the same gravesite."

i don't doubt that there are bodies buried at many of these schools, due to the length of time they were open (some date back 100+yrs) and at the time healthcare was not nearly what it is now, illness did happen, it did spread especially in dorm style situations and people did die there is no denying that.. there is also no denying that some schools were worse run then others and in some schools questionable things happened (experiments on malnutrition, vaccine trials.. this is openly known)

 

now what happened in the earlier years to what happened in the later years could easily be completely different, with more modern healthcare, parents making the choice to send their kids (vrs it being mandatory) and it becoming more about being a school with education and less about assimilation (since the later generations would most likely be second or third generation attending the school, english often the language spoken at home..)

The picture of Trudeau with the teddy bear says it all. Why waist a good opportunity for propaganda. What is interesting in this article is it points out the major problem. They report in BOLD the assumption. Then print a tiny little redaction later. 

What went down, whatever it was, wasn't good and kind, that is obvious. Just look at the situation of the First Nations. It's crap like this that only distorts and distracts from our shared history. IMO it should be looked at for real and square on. Not with hysterics, political photo ops and wokeness. It is now our shared history between us, the people. The first nations are more my family than the government is that much is certain. I don't accept the guilt the government tries to offload onto me. Not even an ounce. The First Nations folks in my life also don't put any blame onto us, the people. I only see more division with the way this stuff gets put forward.

One year ago today, the leaders of the British Columbia First Nation Band Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc announced the discovery of a mass grave of more than 200 Indigenous children detected at a residential school in British Columbia.

“We had a knowing in our community that we were able to verify. To our knowledge, these missing children are undocumented deaths,” Rosanne Casimir, chief of the Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc, said in a statement on May 27, 2021.

The band called the discovery, “Le Estcwicwéy̓” — or “the missing.”

What’s still missing, however, according to a number of Canadian academics, is proof of the remains in the ground.

Since last year’s announcement, there have been no excavations at Kamloops nor any dates set for any such work to commence. Nothing has been taken out of the ground so far, according to a Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc spokesman.
