Kanye West wants to be known simply as Ye.
West, 44, has applied to change his legal name from Kanye Omari West to Ye — according to documents obtained by PEOPLE.
In the documents, West, 44, says his decision for the change is for "personal reasons" — and provides no further explanation.
In order for the change to occur, a judge in California would need to sign off on the petition.

The Phillips Backyard Double Header, the first Vancouver Island event of its kind to require its patrons to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination before entering the venue, has been postponed until 2022.
The two-day event, which was set for Sept. 10-11 at the Phillips Brewing and Malting Co. on Government Street, “was originally conceived to be a celebration of a return to concerts in British Columbia,” the company said in a statement. “Over the course of this week, it has become clear that we will not be able to produce the event we had planned and dreamed of producing.” Rock acts Black Mountain, The Beaches, U.S. Girls and Metz were among the acts expected to perform.

Get Funk’d, another live event set for the same site, is still going forward at Phillips Brewery on Sept. 25, “but will be subject to regulations from provincial health officers” if those details become available, said producer Darryl Mar of the Victoria Jazz Society. “Right now, we are going ahead.”
It is recommended that guests attending the event, featuring The Funk Hunters, be vaccinated prior to entry, “but that is not mandatory,” Mar said.
GET FUNK'D HAS BEEN CANCELLED - In light of recent developments, the Victoria Jazz Society has made the difficult and prudent decision to cancel the “GET FUNK’D” event, which was scheduled to take place at Phillips Backyard on Saturday, September 25.
The VJS is very disappointed about this decision, and hopes to present “GET FUNK’D” as a part of the TD Victoria International JazzFest in 2022, occurring from June 24 to July 3. We look forward to seeing you when all attendees, performers, VJS volunteers, and staff feel that the time is right.
Purchased tickets for “GET FUNK’D” will be refunded at point of purchase.

I am sure it was a difficult decision, but was it really prudent?

I just received the following in an email from RMTS:
"...Due to the rapidly changing nature of live events at this time, the performance of An Evening with David Sedaris scheduled for November 6, 2021, has been cancelled. Please stay tuned for updates on a future performance date..."
I was really looking forward to some actual live theatre again. I guess being fully vaccinated still isn't enough.

Many shows were booked around the region for the Fall of 2020 in anticipation of Bonnie Henry sticking with her September timeline for the transition into phase #4 of her plan, which would have restored the ability for venues of all types to once again welcome full capacity audiences into their seats/bleachers/stands.
Of course Henry has left phase #3 in place, which mandates that only 50% of a venues capacity may be sold for occupancy.
It's unfortunate for patrons seeking a return to live theatre, sports and entertainment, but many (if not most) touring shows and/or large sporting events simply can't afford to support those events with the potential earned revenue now reduced to 50% of a venues total capacity.
I honestly can't see a return to anything resembling "normal" live entertainment and sports until the Fall of 2022 at the earliest, and more realistically, Spring of 2023.
There will be sporadic efforts to try to find that extra revenue now lost through Provincially mandated capacity reductions (like video streaming, "special" patron packages, etc), but those will be few and far between, and such events will largely focus on dedicated (and ongoing) subscribers in the case of live entertainment, and potentially season ticket holders in the case of sporting events.
I do however, hope my timelines above are proven to be wrong!

Yet churches can operate at full capacity with no masking or vaccination requirements.

If those City and Colour shows are “postponed”, someone is going home in a box.
Bob Mould is playing in Seattle on Tuesday, at a small venue. Too bad I can’t go!
Matt.
