You going?

Tyson Barrie is a free agent, glad he can keep his mind off hockey for now.

A trifecta of Victoria parks will come to life with dance-happy revellers this weekend for the ninth annual Wonderment Festival, a popular electronic music festival staged by the Garden City Electronic Music Society.

Wonderment kicks off Friday at the Victoria Event Centre, which will operate for three nights of programming as the festival’s lone ticketed venue. The remainder of Wonderment — including events held at Songhees Park Plaza (on Saturday), Cameron Bandshell (Sunday), and Banfield Park (Monday) — is free of charge, which is impressive given the roster of performers assembled for the event.

There’s a mixture of established veterans and promising newcomers on stage throughout the festival’s four days of activity, ranging from local favourites Hrdvsion, Koosh, Danuel Tate, The Mole, and Righteous Rainbows of Togetherness to internationals Mixmaster Morris, Thomas Melchior and Synkro. Food and beverages will not be for sale at the outdoor events, so organizers are asking festivalgoers to pack out what they pack in.

Chilliwack is playing Butchart this Thursday night. I had no idea they put on concerts of that calibre/genre there.

Bill Henderson lives on salt spring. Funny seeing some of these Canadian music big shots just playing at the fall fair or out in the community.

It is not like Chilliwack is playing arenas. Saw them a few years back at a CFB Esquimalt open house.

The lead singer is almost 80 and is the only original member.

^ Mick has the advantage that since he never could sing, his performance hasn't deteriorated much.

OASIS are staging a shock reunion and will announce their grand comeback this week.

The Britpop icons have secretly agreed a deal to return for a series of UK concerts next summer.

Now, The Sun is reporting that if the brothers’ highly-anticipated reunion goes ahead, it could gross £400million. In an interview with the newspaper, music industry expert Professor Jonathan Shalit OBE, chairman of talent agency InterTalent, claimed that “with tickets, sponsorship, merchandise and filming,” the income for Noel and Liam could be “over £50million each.”

“This is a tour that could easily gross over £400million,” Shalit claims.
