YouTube star Adam Reader, known as the Professor of Rock, is getting his own radio show, launching this October with Skyview Networks. Classic Rock U will combine Reader’s extensive music knowledge and interviews with a playlist of classic hits.

 

Renowned for his YouTube channel, which boasts over one million subscribers and nearly 700 interviews with artists and bands from Kenny Loggins to Def Leppard, Reader brings his rich storytelling and passion for rock music to a broader audience through the format he grew up with.

 

Classic Rock U will originate out of Hubbard Broadcasting’s Chicago studios and will debute on that cluster’s 97.1 The Drive (WDRV), as well as KSLX-FM in Phoenix and KSHE-FM in St. Louis.

I think that it is also taking into account their mercurial past, and whether the brothers can keep it together for long enough to do a real world tour.

Paula Abdul’s upcoming tour of Canada, which was due to kick off in Victoria on Sept. 25, has been cancelled.

The singer’s Straight Up! To Canada Tour was called off due to an unspecified injury that will require surgery, according to a statement on Abdul’s official social-media accounts.

“It’s with an incredibly heavy heart that I need to share with you an update regarding some injuries I’ve recently sustained,” wrote Abdul, 62.

Abdul, the former American Idol judge and Grammy Award winner, was set to make her Victoria debut at Save-on-Foods Memorial Centre during the run, with support from opening acts Taylor Dayne and Tiffany.






That’s a pretty darned good lineup. Too bad.

I'm usually on the up and up on local concerts, even if I don't attend many. But I had no idea Abdul was starting her tour here. As in, no idea at all.

Speaking on concerts, Flo Rida performance at Save on Foods arena last night was fun. He played all his hits for 1.5 hours with lots of crowd participation on the stage.

Good show and the crowd enjoyed it.

What do you all think of the supposed leaked contract between Swift and that football guy, with a predetermined relationship end date coming up this month, and how the affair is to be managed for optics?

It all looked fake and dumb from the get go, to be honest.

I follow celebrities as much as I follow influencers. Couldn't care less what they think or do.

Considering people will pretty much do and say anything for publicity, "certainty" is not as certain as it once might have been.

 

The PR company on whose letterhead the "contract" was printed has vehemently denied that the photos of said contract were in any way real, that they are complete forgeries - of course that is exactly the statement you'd expect them to issue regardless of whether the documents are real or faked. 

 

My personal take would be that some random photos of a relationship "contract" between two celebrities that suddenly appear in unattributed photographs on Reddit might have all the earmarks of ever more common fake news.

So much of Hollywood and entertainment is an illusion.

I can totally see something like the football guy and Swift getting “together” being a giant marketing campaign. It makes more sense then their random relationship that sprung out of nowhere and was riffed on so hard by the NFL and the music industry. All of a sudden, dads (with money) and their tween daughters could relate on something, and dad felt buying $2,000 Taylor Swift concert tickets was a ticket to a better relationship with his daughter.

And it worked. We all remember how insanely expensive Swift tickets were, and parents gobbled them up for their kids.
