It’s the English Inn and has been in planning for some time. The developer recently completed the Esquimalt Town Square project, after which this one started in ernest.

Despite all the delays, Baier said he’s optimistic Stonebridge will come to fruition. “My glass is three-quarters full,” he said, noting he and partner John Sercombe have been developing since 1981 and working on Stonebridge for 15 years.

“We are all gung-ho to get going on, but I’m turning 70 this year and we’re running out of gas here.”

11 years.  #housingshortage

So 11 years for this, and Mike K. thinks we can build new towns quick.

An approximately 200-unit, five-storey development adjacent to Esquimalt’s town square has been moved forward despite residents expressing concern over a potential increase of vehicles in the area.

Developer Invictus Commercial Corp. and property manager Boardwalk REIT’s proposal, called the Marin, includes two buildings that would take the place of 14 single-family residential properties between Carlisle Avenue and Lyall Street.

A rental building atop three commercial/industrial units would replace a large parking lot in the 400-block of Esquimalt Road as part of a development to be considered by Victoria council on Thursday.

The 85-unit Aryze Development project at 480 and 492 Esquimalt Rd. would bring much-needed rental housing to Vic West, the company says.

Aryze principal Luke Mari noted the city’s own housing strategy review — which will also be considered Thursday at council’s committee of the whole meeting — notes no rental units were approved for Vic West in 2021.

“We need rental housing across the city,” he said. “We have a one per cent vacancy rate and we haven’t had a healthy vacancy rate in Victoria since 1996, when it jumped to four per cent.”

It looks like it'll be situated on the land for this failed proposal: https://victoria.cit...idney-crossing/

The developer is the same group behind this project proposed for across the street from the hotel proposal: https://victoria.cit...-beacon-avenue/

I guess an improved crossing at Beacon Avenue and the PBH is never going to happen now.

As in an interchange? Yeah, doubtful. I do wonder if thats probably not a good thing anyways. There is benefit to having a stop light there, as it spreads out the big dump of ferry traffic every hour.
