Has anyone noticed whether The Guild actually re-opened or not? Its website and Facebook page act like it is a going concern, but it still looked closed last time I ran by.

I think it's dead. I walked by on the weekend and it was definitely still closed. I can't even find their Facebook page at all anymore.

Yes, we’ve been lucky with our rental in Victoria. Great tenants for years.

At least this rental, the tenancy is tied to employment, as is their ability to stay in Canada!

I it may be another location of Maman from Toronto. Their site states this:

Sounds like Floyd's Diner was unable to get a new lease for the downtown location. The music recording studio that shares the building has to be out by February 1, 2019

It's certainly a prime location for redevelopment. Infiniti Studios owner Adam Sutherland manages to invoke a real sense of the pejorative in the way he wrote his statement about "condos".

Popeye's Chicken is coming to BC! The first location in BC will be opening in PoCo. 

I believe there was a Popeye's Chicken on Douglas St. about 10 or 15 years ago near the 2nd slice pizza?

 

I know it was an American Chain and that it was only there for less then a year I think.
